RStudio brings transparency of data to the company and it is a game changer

Overall Satisfaction with RStudio
We use RStudio for development within bioinformatics group. The product (R Shiny) from our group is used across the whole organization, it is used for data integration, both clinical and pre-clinical biomarker data and other types of data integration.
- Best IDE for R programming.
- Good ecosystem for R Markdown and R Shiny.
- RStudio Connect is very useful for publishing and user authentication.
- It could have its own consulting team to support company to build R related products instead of partnering.
- It could also offer tailored paid training for small and large companies.
- It brings transparency of data across the whole organization and harnesses the power of open source.
- No negative impact.
RStudio is code based, so in the beginning tools like Spotfire and Tableau have thier advantages since many things are already built in, but in terms of flexibility RStudio will win over the longer term.
The cost of RStudio and RStudio Connect is very reasonable [for a] small company.

Yes, the customer success representatives are definitely very helpful. They checked in a couple of times per year for license renewal and [gave] a lot of information about progress in the field.
The support team is also responsible, generally can expect a response within 24 hours.

I use both open source IDE and paid RStudio Connect.
The open source data science is powerful, since that is the only way to get up to speed and get the most updated progress in the field.

We [have] used RStudio Connect for about 2 years and with over 60+ users, it bring transparen[cy] of company data to everybody including decision makers. It significantly increases efficiency and certainly avoids data silos.
It promotes collaboration, although certainly will cause some conflict among departments. But overall, it is the right direction to go.

We do not use the RStudio's hosted offerings. We deployed RStudio Connect on the AWS. AWS is the back-end of our data science team.

We do embed python in R shiny development for specific purpose that R may not be readily do. So the easier Rstudio support Python usage on Rmarkdown and Rshiny, the better
