Overall Satisfaction with RUN Powered by ADP

ADP RUN is my payroll processing application for my S-Corporation, and includes integration with my invoice software of choice (Wave Apps) and offers a community of users to help answer questions that oftentimes come up. ADP runs my payroll bi-weekly, takes out and pays the appropriate taxes, and even offers some retirement options, additional employees and compliance notices for my business for both state and federal regulations.
  • RUN is easy to use, and quick to process, I'm able to customize the date of payment for my payroll, making adjustments as needed. It also calculates the appropriate taxes and simplifies the payroll process for me.
  • The dashboard gives me integration with WaveApps, my invoicing solution, that helps get me immediate access and shares information between the two systems.
  • They offer promotional incentives, such as free job posting with ZipRecruiter and some discounts as well.
  • The fees for a single employee s-corp is about 90/payroll processing, even with promotional incentives its about 58/payroll. I've found companies in which the regular processing cost is half that.
  • The support once your sold, is tough, and the sales person can flake out once they get their commission, I am electing to change off adp because they didn't support the connection once the sale was made.
  • The fees for a Simple IRA is 40/month, and they don't manage the fund...plus yearly fees, and the simple IRA was not the right choice for me...they sell, but don't educate the customer enough.
  • Easy to launch into an account, and quick to learn how to use it, making running a one person shop easier.
  • Expensive for a single person business, and there are similar level service orgs doing payroll, for less money and higher level customer support.
  • Expensive to get into a managed retirement program that you could do yourself.
I'm working on jumping over to connect pay which offers some better local support, and is a locally run business in my area. The sales people are always present, and a phone call away, rather than reaching out to a large call center. They are clear on their costs, and aren't trying to sweeten the deal with discounts that disappear a year later. I am looking forward to working with them.
I'm neutral on the recommendation, the integration with other systems is fantastic, especially with Wave apps, and I think QuickBooks can also integrate well with it. I'm not to keen on the support though and on the costs involved, I feel that there are many other payroll options out there that deliver the same service for less money to be spent. I didn't like the experience on the simple IRA either.
