Overall Satisfaction with SAP HANA
SAP HANA is used as database infrastructure of several SAP Applications like BW, CRM, Core, and HR for our customers (Health Insurance Companies).
- Wondrously stable
- Fast
- Easy updates and easy maintenance
- Monitoring & analyzing bad sql statements
- Savepoints and I/O handling
- Long archive backup catalog options
- We've seen performance improvement especially at read operations in BusinessWarehouse-systems.
- There are complicated hardware requirements (good for support and stability but worse on ROI).
- ScaleUp limits at VM-Nodes and on physical nodes by SAP qualification or by physical possibility (costs).
Similar to other big DBMS, but better or equal at stability and technical maintenance. Better or equal at documentation. There is room for improvement at SQL path analyzing.
