ShipStation: So good go have you back on board with 420EDC!
Overall Satisfaction with ShipStation
We use ShipStation as part of our BigCommerce package to help with fulfillment, create shipping labels and manage returns of products.
As a small operation, it allows us to manage our shipping in house without the need for a fulfillment center which keeps costs down. We use ShipStation and their Stamps.com integration to ship thru USPS 99% of the time.
ShipStation saves us hours at the post office with the ability to print postage at home and drop off or have picked up by our rural USPS carrier.
Pros
- Batch Printing
- Integration with Big Commerce
- Provides an easy to manage fulfillment operation
Cons
- New Beta software was hard to use, I reverted back to the older version.
- Sometimes ShipStation fails to print the labels I want, I have to manually download them and print from outside ShipStation.
- I primarily use Firefox for my browser but something between BigCommerce, ShipStation and Firefox doesn't play well. So for printing, I use Safari which doesn't render the same issues.
- ShipStation has had a positive impact on our ROI.
- Minimal waiting in line at the post office
- Offers the ability for a one man show to manage day to day which is what my operation currently is.
I've used Stamps.com on its own in the past and ShipStation makes life so much easier and faster. You can create templates for products so they can be quickly processed and batched or you can batch your international and domestic orders separately. For a few years while we were growing 420EDC was using Squarespace and Stamps.com. When we moved to BigCommerce in early 2018, it was a sigh of relief to reintegrate ShipStation back into our fulfillment process.
