Sigma is great at automating higher-level data analyses that don’t require a lot of data manipulation, and it’s a quick way to produce reporting faster and earlier and can be referenced repeatedly. It’s also quite non-technical user friendly. However, as a business analyst, I do have to do the same analyses elsewhere to double-check that sigma is producing what I want it to produce since the Sigma syntax gets confusing.
Sigma is good for iterative and repeating analyses, but not so much for my ad hoc analyses, given the complexity of ad hoc analyses I do. It’s good for producing high-level patterns and gut checks, but not so much drill downs since It’s not as easy as Tableau or Excel to view the sample drilled down data.
Not involved in the selection process.
