Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds IP Address Manager (IPAM)

We have been centralising our IP allocation after years of neglect and Solarwind's IPAM turned out to be a great product making the whole experience much easier. Furthermore it gives us live monitoring of utilisation of particular subnets - which then allowed us to be proactive to problems, rather than wait for reports from users about devices not working.

I quite like the hierarchical structure we can put the subnets in, as this makes the whole management easier. We're still on a journey to leverage it's full potential but in our environment we tend to implement tools as far as needed to solve a problem (which it did) and refine it only when there's time to spare. I'm sure in coming months we'll have a chance to explore it's functionality further.

We checked Windows IPAM which seems well suited for smaller networks. Other products didn't cut it based on cost - this also integrates with the rest of our SolarWinds estate.
Always responsive and there's a lot of information on Thwack/internet as it's a fairly popular product.

The interface takes some getting used to and some aspects coule be easier to manager. However, it does the job and fairly quickly becomes a go-to tool.
Best case is for managing broad or complex addressing spaces. For simpler networks I would find it more difficult to justify the expenditure or setup effort.
