SolarWinds does an amazing job automating and and configuring our disparate technology!
Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager
We use it to manage a wide range of infrastructure services, from routers, firewalls, and UPSs to Windows, Linux and virtual server hosting hardware. Also, SAN networks and devices.
Pros
- Monitoring health levels of disparate technology.
- Configuring a wide array of equipment.
- Providing default and customized views of the status of all of your systems.
- Cost-effective and very fairly priced.
Cons
- Could provide even easier customization of reports and user interfaces.
- Continue to advance in rolling out updates to devices including APIs to allow the use of Ansible and other standard automation capabilities.
- Continue to widen the number of devices supported.
- The backup and roll out of configurations to all of our Cisco, Fortinet and Windows server products has been great.
- The ease at which we can compare configurations and make changes to update all devices.
- Helping us limit staff hours and costs while keeping on top of the status of every part of our IT systems.
- BMC Helix Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Symantec Asset Management Suite, Bitdefender Network Traffic Security Analytics and CA Unicenter Network and Systems Management (Discontinued)
Solarwinds has a broader range and a lower price point. So it allows us to monitor and configure more at less cost than other solutions.
