Overall Satisfaction with Stripe
At Flights Machine, we use Stripe for all of our subscription billing and one-time purchase payment infrastructure. Every single one of our customers gets billed via Stripe. We have both 6-month and annual subscription plans and deeply integrate with Stripe via to detect and mitigate delinquent churn and to manage our customers' subscriptions.

- Terribly limited analytics/reporting (need to use 3rd party analytics tools instead)
- API updates frequently (though they are good at supporting their older APIs)
- 100% of our revenue goes through Stripe, and there has been zero downtime effecting us in over 1.5 years
- Credit card fraud has not been an issue thanks to their detection algorithms, saving us many employee-hours
- Chargebacks have been handled fairly, and their process for resolving is easy to use for our customer support staff
In previous projects, I've used both Braintree and Stripe. Stripe's API, ease of use, developer documentation, and out of the box features like "Stripe Checkout" blow Braintree out of the water. Plus, in general I try my best to avoid doing business with PayPal (which is the parent company of Braintree).
