Overall Satisfaction with Cision Communications Cloud

Our main HQ in San Bruno is using Cision Communications Cloud (TrendKite)*. Each morning our entire office gets an alert for industry news and competitor news at 8 am. On top of that, we get the real-time alerts any time an article is published about our company. We also created custom searches for some of our sales reps to help them personalize their emails making their jobs easier as well. Lastly, having Cision Communications Cloud really made pulling data for big meetings like sales kickoff, end of the quarterly meetings, and board meetings the best!! We were able to see a lot of trends and pull important data in a very timely manner, which would not do at all before having Cision Communications Cloud.

Before we had Cision we had no idea what articles were being published, what news outlets had the best readership, or how our press compared to our competitors. Now we have a clear view and can make data-driven decisions in a timely manner.

*This review was written before Cision acquired TrendKite. TrendKite is now part of Cision Communications Cloud.
  • Sharing all of the information company-wide, whether as an alert, or end of the quarter data is super simple and easy to use and being able to share across email and slack is a great integration.
  • Setting up alerts, dashboards, and searches are very user-friendly, especially when you have a customer success team that is as amazing as ours!!
  • Having a database of all articles, and being able to see visual representations of the success of articles in the news about our company without spending hours of time creating it, makes my job super simple.
  • Having an export feature is great, however, one area that could improve is allowing the users to customize the reports we want to export. Ie. putting multiple dashboards on one page, or changing the order, or adding comments.
  • At the very beginning of our contract, understanding the relationship of the diagrams took a little time to understand, so making those a little clearer would be great.
  • Getting our searches and dashboards created took some time especially for someone who doesn't know the boolean code. Having an example of searches to go by would be super helpful (although our customer success team could set it up for us, I wanted to be involved as well) and honestly, I am knit-picking here. The only real thing that would be a nice change is a user-friendly export feature.
We looked into 10 different options and narrowed down based on price and fit. Critical Mention, Meltwater, and Cision (TrendKite)* were our final 3 options. Critical Mention was out after that because their price was identical to Meltwater and Cision, but we did not get a dashboard of information with Critical Mention. At the end of the day, the user-friendly ability of Cision's platform, their ability to exclude articles from our report (articles that were picked up in very very very small news outlets and that were in foreign languages), and the friendly experience we had throughout the process is why we chose Cision Communications Cloud.
If your company is like ours, with a limited budget, who was only using Google alerts to know when articles were being published about our company, then making the switch to Cision is a great decision. We looked into about 10 different options and narrowed down to 3. At the end of the day, it was Cision's flexibility to work with us, and the joy we had working together to make this deal happen.

Transition from TrendKite to Cision Communications Cloud

Tara is amazing. Always gets back to me in a timely manner, always super cheerful, and will always ask questions about change requests so we make sure our dashboard is always exactly the way we like. I could not say enough great things about their customer success team.
