Use Cases and Deployment Scope

TriNet is used across our organization. We use TriNet for our employee benefits, vacation requests, payroll and HR support. They have helped us address employee issues as well as determining our benefit package and its costs.

Pros and Cons

Their payroll system is fairly easy to understand and the staff is quick in responding to any questions or when you need guidance on how to enter items outside of the norm.
Assigning specific staff to your account helps develop relationships. They are generally quick to respond to inquiries.

Their website can be difficult although the new portal is much easier than the old. I find the reports function to be difficult.
TriNet Expense is a feature we are anxious to learn more about. The webinar for that was very fast and superficial. Need more details and assistance in setting it up. The normal help line is not well equipped to deal with these issues.

Support Rating

I give it a 9 because our assigned support staff is very responsive and very good at explaining things when I need further detail. The new analytics is a nice feature but the reports tool is difficult to figure out. I continuously find myself going back to the tutorial or contacting support for assistance. TriNet Expense needs better introduction and tutorial.

Usability

I give it this rating because of the reports function and TriNet Expense feature being confusing.

Return on Investment

We have employees located in various states. TriNet is very good at keeping us informed of the varying employee regulations so we can ensure we are in compliance.
TriNet administers our benefit packages which is, as a small organization, extremely helpful.

Likelihood to Recommend

TriNet is well suited for small organizations such as ours where we do not have a full HR department. I think in a larger corporation with a well established and large HR department, it would not be necessary or at least not all of the functions would be necessary.
