Overall Satisfaction with Tripp Lite SmartPro
I work at a University with multiple campuses and each campus has multiple communication rooms. We currently use Tripp Lite SmartPro in all our communication rooms as these rooms are not on any other sort of enterprise building UPS. We use the SmartPro as they have been found to be reliable from our testing and have the ability to provide alerting of power outages.
- Provide power during an outage.
- Send alerts on power failure.
- No issues. It provides power which is the one job required of the device.
- Providing clean power on power outage.
- Display with estimated runtime.
- Email alerting.
- The positive impact as we were able to identify when a power outage was the reason for remote sites going offline without having to physically check devices.
- Having a UPS meant we were able to keep the servers and switches operational as well as end-users avoiding downtime.
- Schneider Electric Smart-UPs and formerly from APC
APC worked similarly to Tripp Lite and I personally have no preference from a technical standpoint. We however went with Tripp Lite as they had the better customer service.
