Overall Satisfaction with TrustRadius for Buyers

I used TrustRadius to evaluate choices for CRM and event management software. While not the primary decision maker, I was consulted by the primary (Senior Dir. of Dev.) and relevant staff given my own relevant experience choosing these software(s) at other companies for which I have worked. We ultimately chose Raiser's Edge NXT for the CRM and are still evaluating choices for the event management.
  • Clear and concise reviews that provide volumes of info without being tedious to look through
  • Most, if not all, software under consideration is rated on TrustRadius
  • Adding video content would be great (as a verification service and comparison to G2)
  • More ways to delve into versions of products (for example, Salesforce is varied)
Vendors were up front at all times about their own costs (for example, a basic plan), but were less forthcoming about add-ons until after the initial conversation and, in many cases, only when pressed. For example, one CRM under consideration showed a relatively low cost, but required several add-ons that didn't come to light until I joined and asked about their internal capabilities. It turned out that their internal capabilities were limited and greatly supplemented by these add-ons that cost additional money.
I would say it is comparable to G2, with the others not quite measuring up. G2 is very similar and is the best comparison.
It attracts my initial attention, but I do my best to look at the composite elements and not just the final score. If a score is on the higher end, I want to know what is bringing it down. If the score is slightly lower, but is higher on the elements that are important to my company and our needs, I'm more likely to go with that than the product that is overall rated higher.
The biggest challenges came down to agreeing internally about the priorities, for instance what were our priorities when searching for a new CRM. Once agreed upon, it was much easier to narrow down options. Another challenge was that difficulty evaluating cost when a product/company was not truly forthcoming. Then again, if the latter was the case, we generally went away from that product.
FortiClient, Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Manager (RDCMan), Raiser's Edge NXT
Always room for improvement, but overall I continue to be impressed by the breadth of offerings and the depth of the reviews approved for use on TrustRadius. Few if any comparable services exist.
