Overall Satisfaction with Unitrends MSP
We are utilizing Unitrends MSP as are new standard backup solution both internally and as the primary offering to our Managed Services clients. It addresses both cost sensitivity with our clients compared to its competitors and provides us a confident solution we can stand behind to deploy everywhere.
- Compatibility with every system our clients and new engaged clients can potentially run.
- multiple backup methods mean we have options if a particular system is having issues (usually on new clients before we can get them fixed up).
- Management and monitoring are clear and concise via the portal and works with solutions like Backup Radar and RMM.
- Email reporting and configuration is a bit light.
- Deployments may require using SSH and editing config files manually for settings that could be tucked in an advanced menu in the UI.
- By being priced by TB protected small low impact machines have little to no cost impact allowing backups to be run without concerns about licensing costs, allowing for better client billing posturing.
- Lower management and troubleshooting overhead, "once it's going it's solid."
We migrated from a couple of backup solutions to Unitrends primarily for a couple of key reasons, it supports just about every system a SMB could have deployed from Windows, Mac, Linux, NAS/SAN has a solid configuration and management system for MSPs to be able to manage and monitor via a single pane of glass, and is fairly hardware independent with being able to run a virtual appliance.
