Overall Satisfaction with Viewpoint Spectrum

Spectrum is used on a daily basis for all aspects of construction projects, large and small, as well as daily T&M. The software is integral in our process from start to finish. For the last five years, it has streamlined our processes, eliminating the need for duplication of entries in multiple programs; it achieves a more accurate and concise project viewing.

  • Decrease the amount of screens required when processing and updating.

Some modules could be better integrated without the need to switch constantly. This would make processes even more streamlined.
This has been achieved with being able to eliminate previous software required and duplication of entries.

Spectrum has been able to streamline and eliminate previous programs used to be able to complete our processes. The live updates are essential to tracking expenses and progress with our ongoing jobs. Our deployment was fast, six weeks, and our trainer was knowledgeable, providing clear and concise information.

Using Viewpoint Spectrum

5 - AP, AR, Project Management, PO's, General Ledger. We use Spectrum for all accounting and job management purposes.
1 - A 'superuser' is available to support personnel in-house with troubleshooting or being able to make the necessary connections in order to get an issue resolved.

We ultimately made the decision to switch to Spectrum because of the future integration with Accubid products that were already in use.
I don't think anything would change other than taking a longer time to deploy.

Viewpoint Spectrum Implementation

My only insight would be to take time in your implementation and training process; ours was six weeks from start to finish.

Our trainer was excellent and navigated the time zone differences expertly. She gave us test assignments to complete and was available for questions at any time.

We have the support system that was included with our subscription.
We have always received exceptional support and resolutions. It's not always the answer we are looking for, but it's outstanding all the same. There was a time when support response was slow, but I suspect this had more to do with a growth in product users. It has since been resolved with much-improved response times.
They are all very knowledgeable in the product, and if you happen to get someone who isn't in that particular area, they are upfront and transfer to someone who is.

Upgrading Viewpoint Spectrum

Yes - We utilize cloud management; therefore, updates and releases are automatic. We have never noticed a disruption from this; any corrections/revisions that need to be made are clearly communicated and corrected in a timely manner.
