Overall Satisfaction with VMTurbo Operations Manager
We use VMTurbo Operations Manager to manage our virtualized workloads by providing us in depth analysis of resource usage trends to determine when and where we would run into problems down the road. VMTurbo Operations Manager's automation capabilities allow me to run lean in our department, saving the company money and my sanity. The major problem VMTurbo Operations Manager solves for us is understanding our virtual environment better, allowing for better future planning through the capacity planning module and shows us (or in most cases, automatically dealing with) pain points and problems in our infrastructure. It's like having a Swiss army knife for your datacenter.
- VMTurbo Operations Manager's predictive algorithm is like VMware DRS on steroids.
- Capacity planning makes datacenter expansion planning easy (now if I can just get the BUDGET!).
- Easy to read and customizable dashboards allow you to see what's going on at a glance, no need to spend hours digging through logs!
- The GUI is Flash based... Get with the program and make that HTML5 already so we can get rid of Flash!
- So many options that it can be overwhelming at first.
- RAM resource intensive virtual appliance.
- Reduced emergency situations
- Less time managing workloads for sysadmin
- Less downtime of critical infrastructure
- vROPS
vROPS is a good tool but it is missing a lot of features that VMTurbo has had for a while. It is much more expensive than VMTurbo from a licensing and maintenance perspective. So if you don't mind doing less for a higher cost then go with it!
