Overall Satisfaction with Webex Webinars

I use it to manage online meetings with both internal staff and external non-department staff. I have also used it to conduct and record training.
  • Automated captioning
  • Ability to edit the captioning
  • Easy ability to allow others to share their screen
  • Easy ability to mute others
  • A password protected webex required to manually type in the password vs. copy/paste
  • I wish there was a way to pause a recorded webex and restart the recording without being two separate recordings
  • Meetings have allowed recording of conversations for later reference
  • Meetings allowed for clarification of project objectives
  • Recordings have allowed to use it as a training tool, huge time savings
I think Webex is comparable to Zoom in features and quality. We chose it because we use the whole suite of Webex tools.

Cisco Hybrid Work

  • Webex Meetings
  • Webex App
  • Webex Calling
  • Working from an office or other company space
  • Working from home
We have been using the hybrid approach since 2019. Make clear policies on how you will use it to know availability of all staff. Figure out how management wants to communicate your status. Figure out whether staff need to have video on or optional during meetings. Definitely leverage Webex chat groups to streamline project communication.
  1. Making sure everyone had adequate hardware to access the state network
  2. Adequate bandwidth to get work done efficiently
  3. Increased communication on when staff will be out and available
  4. Equivalent response time if people were in the office
  5. Workforce shouldn't be able to tell whether you are in the office or working offsite. Abilities to do duties should be the same.
  6. If work from home does not work for some, give the ability to work in an office.
  • Having 'face to face' communication via video conferences is available 24/7.
  • It has also given some staff the ability to work from any location while dealing with personal matters. Work and availability is still possible.
  • Giving the ability to reduce office space leasing, cost savings since staff only need to be in the office occasionally.
If we need to step through a technical support issue, we just share our screens and work through the issue very quickly.
Chat threads can be searched to go back through to verify what's discussed or to review how something resolved.
Team chats allow everyone to talk real-time to work through issues, ask questions and for everyone to hear the same thing.
We have not really used another approach, other than traditional communication methods such as email, email groups or phonecalls.
We do also use a project management tool but that tool could not be a replacement for Webex, used in tandem.

Using Webex Webinars

Overall, I think the learning curve is low, allowing for any staff to get comfortable with it.
