Overall Satisfaction with Workfront
- Centralize projects in one solution
Workfront helps us get an overview of all our projects from all programmes so we can assess more accurately where to focus our resources based on project priority and urgency. We have multiple projects active at the same time and most of them need the same technicians on them so with the capacity planning option from Workfront we can plan better when to start each of our projects to avoid overlapping the more time-consuming activities.
Pros
- Easy of use: this system is clean, very user-friendly and easy to work with
- Capacity planning: good tool to use for planning multiple projects with limited resources
Cons
- It would be nice to be able to add bulk assignments of people to your projects instead of assignment per task.
- By using Workfront capacity planning and timesheet functionality with direct input on actual work spent on tasks we were able to adjust the resources we needed in the team to handle future projects. It is really helping us view in one place all the required effort to run projects and be efficient.
We selected in the end Workfront over the other PM tools evaluated due to ease of use for the levels of our users, capacity planning options and good value for the price it has. Also now that is has support and online training included in the price it an easy way to manage the tool and train the new team members.
We have enabled the email notifications and this helped to keep the team members engaged in the projects even if they are not the most active users of Workfront. For those where working in projects as team members is not their job specific activity they might forget to check in and give their progress, but updates sent via email with comments from their colleagues helped to keep the collaboration ongoing.
We are working directly with a Workfront support team for questions, issues we might have, best practices, yearly renewal of licenses and all went well. Especially on the yearly license renewal we have a more complex process to manage it and the Workfront team supported us completely and adjusted a bit to meet our needs.
