Overall Satisfaction with Workfront

  • Centralize projects in one solution
  • Manage digital work processes
  • Review and approve digital work
WorkFront allows the creative process to be broken down into tasks that make the process more visible to the project requestors. We've also streamlined certain project types to allow for more consistency with timelines and budgeting. The reporting features are also making it easier for me to identify trends in work flow, budgeting, and scheduling of certain types or work, and when we can expect and uptick in requests.

Pros

  • The customization of reporting features is robust and easy to configure.
  • Notifications: I can customize how I want to be notified and for what reason. I tend to turn off most everything that will notify me through email, preferring to use the notification button in WorkFront.

Cons

  • The search capabilities are somewhat elementary. I used to be able to search by status. Not that feature was taken away. We put a ton of jobs through WorkFront and it is important that I can find projects and files easily.
  • Quite simply...there needs to be a big button to push on the project level for approval of the entire job. I find myself having to communicate extra with the other team members to find out if a job is done. It would be nice for this to happen for people who have reviewer status.
  • Communication through WorkFront is easy but sometimes there are too many places to send a note, which can be confusing.
  • WorkFront has centralized our collaboration, communication and resourcing into one area, and gives visibility into projects our team has not seen before.
  • The reporting features have given my company the opportunity to see reports in real time and use reporting to provide a more accurate budget number when planning for the next fiscal year.
  • WorkFront has given us the ability to automate scheduling based on job type so workflow and scheduling is more consistent.
WorkFront provides both an analytical and visual experience for those who tend to read charts rather that lines of numbers. Workamajig has a clunky interface and was more resistant to integration into my company's current technology processes. WorkFront's API have allow most of our current solutions to communication, thus speeding up the overall process.
WorkFront keeps communication internalized so there is a paper trail, if ever needed. Using conventional email…messages can get lost. If there is ever a question as to how something ended up, we can easily backtrack through the message strings to figure out what happened. This can be an invaluable resource to both my team and my clients.
WorkFront is well suited in regards to scheduling and reporting. It keeps everyone in the know. The visibility of projects for team members is a great boost to our productivity and efficiency. Other simple processes like the search functionality are less intuitive. We spend more time looking up previous job numbers because some of the categories to search have been taken away.
