Overall Satisfaction with Zuora

Zuora has been implemented in our organization to act as the payment gateway for our subscription.
It is primarily being used by the Customer Success team to manage subscription related matters for our customers.

  • It does allow feature add on subscriptions.
  • It does allow for Base Plan amendments for individual accounts, which is good for customized plans and MRR forecasting.
  • The ability to add coupon-like features. Granted the solution is available, but it is not able to detect changes in subscription for which the discount is attached to.
  • The ability to suspend accounts.
  • Perhaps it is our configuration, but Zuora attempts further charge on previously failed payments even though the subscription has been cancelled.
  • Stripe
Perhaps, Zuora aims to be more comprehensive but at the same time, it is not as easy to use as the previous Payment Gateway we have used.
Zuora is well suited for organizations where discounts and add ons are well configured, the problem for us (again, probably our configuration) is that we provide ad hoc discounts and additional charges for features. A proper understanding of the organization's business process is necessary before implementing Zuora.
