I recommend Alexa for small businesses where you don't need much customization. Otherwise, I think big companies should implement their own tools.

IBM
IBM watsonx Assistant excels when there is a set customer behavior regarding their process, for example, when a customer is making a request online. What is more, it sometimes fails to provide the necessary information for organizing that may have some additional requisites. In some disruption scenarios, angry or sad words may stress the system but due to continuous learning, the system has proven to be improving in such scenarios.

  • It sources website analytics for most websites we're interested in tracking.
  • Each website's dashboard is easy to understand and pull numbers from.
  • We can get very nitty gritty with the numbers we're pulling or keep it simple by just pulling basic website visitor stats.

  • Watson Assistant requires some improvement in the way it deals with multimedia content when displayed on the assistant. As of now, IBM Watson Assistant has issues displaying technical diagrams on a small chat window. This is definitely something that needs some improvement.
  • It is sometimes hard and time-consuming to create some advanced actions while creating the virtual assistant so I suggest that the IBM Watson Assistant development team would work on creating sample templates for some simple to advanced actions according to industry to help kick-start the process of creating the initial virtual assistant.
  • IBM Watson Assistant is great, but it is not magic on its own; it requires more extensions which, in my opinion, are very limited to a few possibilities. Enhancing the extensions with other products, including open-source solutions, ought to be a priority for the Watson Assistant development team.

With the growing use of AI and chatbots, it's very easy to use, and the conversational language makes it easier than keyword searches in a document. The contextual language processing is impressive. It's easy to integrate into our internal portal. The use of this tool would depend on each company's security and data sensitivity.

We've rarely had to engage support, but they've always been prompt in responding and very attentive. Support experiences have been extremely positive (but we're mostly happy that we just don't have any cause to routinely need support in the first place!).

If you want to focus only on your own web analytics, then Google Analytics is the way to go as no product will give you more accurate data. However, what Google Analytics cannot do is the competitive analysis functionality, which is where a product like Alexa comes in. It's about on par with SimilarWeb in many ways, they just go about the analytics in slightly different ways. Really, it comes down to personal preference as to which you prefer. Thankfully both offer free trials so you can test out the platforms before fully committing. SimilarWeb may be a bit better in terms of mobile web data.

They are related - coming from the stable of IBM only. IBM Watson assistant specifically suited my pilot project because it was pretty straightforward and intuitive. IBM Watson Studio seemed to me like more of a super set, which could easily have all the features of IBM Watson Assistant - but then, the price also would be higher

  • By automating tasks that would otherwise require human intervention, organizations may achieve cost savings in terms of labor, especially for handling large volumes of routine inquiries.
  • Virtual assistants can handle a large number of simultaneous interactions, making them scalable to accommodate growing customer bases and increasing workloads without a linear increase in staffing.
