First, their platform is super easy and intuitive to use. There are lots of customization options, which are not difficult to learn and use.
Their player is mobile responsive, so all I need to do is use the embed code on my site or landing page. Their player adapts to the viewport size.
They have very good statistical information that helps you to see where people drop off. This insight helps evaluate content or length of video.
Their turnstile feature allows you to put registration directly in your video, and can be used for gated content. (Register to see the rest of this video.) Also the turnstile registration date can be integrated with your marketing automation platform.

Cons

Great visual tool that lets you intelligently communicate what you are seeking to explain to your audience. More features I might suggest would be anything that makes it more interactive with the viewer in real-time.
For the price , it is a great deal as is.

Obtaining embed codes for a significantly large number of videos can be very time consuming as there is no way to automatically pull a report.
Within a project, there is no way to set the list to show a specific number of videos and you may only have a certain number of videos shown unless you click to expand the list and continue to do so.
Once the list is expanded and you click in to a video, when clicking back, the list reloads and you must expand the entire list again which can become very time consuming.

There are other options out there that would work for my company. However the platform is superior to the others that we have used. I will most likely renew when the time comes. The idea that the product is still evolving and adding new options is intriguing to stay with Wistia.

Great, simple, usable product. Would have given it higher marks, but sometimes the folders and permissions aren't the most intuitive. Interface for uploading, tagging, describing videos is simple. Sharing is also relatively intuitive. Overall, a clean and simple interface and most of our marketing team had no issues using it. I think it was easier than using Vimeo.

We've rarely had any trouble with Wistia, and if we have, their team is quick to respond and offer a fix. The software functions like it's supposed to, which is a breath of fresh air in a lot of ways. The HubSpot integration, especially, is really useful and has never caused any problems.

We haven't actually needed much support so that in itself says a lot about the software. It was easy to use and had great tool tips that guide you through the tool so you don't even need to reach out to support. There are help files that are there when needed, and some of these are helpful to us as well because again, we didn't have to reach out and wait for support.

Alternatives Considered

We had invested in making our own videos using YouTube, and even Camtasia. But they were still us interpreting on behalf of our audience which took forever. Once we found Animoto, it was so much easier to upload the pics our audience would send us. From there we had a 100% positive response, that we had indeed captured what they were trying to say.

I didn't actually select Wistia from a list of alternatives - I first became aware of Wistia through their library of support materials for video making, then realized that they had a pretty nice hosting capability. I started by trying it out with a couple videos that I linked to, then grew from there. Been very pleased all the way.

There is not a day that goes by that we don't generate leads and subscribers through a Wistia form on a video - often from deep in the archives.
Wistia lead generation has really allowed us to maximize and monetize our video collection. This morning we got a new customer who began as a lead from a video that, quite frankly, I had forgotten about.
