Chose AxisCare Home Care Software
Axis Care's ability to view caregiver clock in/out location directly from the shift and sending out open shifts is significantly better than Well Sky for our scheduling team. (SAVES US HOURS of time working through open shifts.)
The number one reason we switched from Wellsky to AxisCare simply came down to one thing, vendor interaction. We found that it was difficult to reach out to and hear back from Wellsky's support during our last few months with them. From our exploratory call, to our …
WellSky was unable to keep us complaint in the eyes of Oregon Health Authority and when we went to them with concerns they told us it would be 3-5years before they could fix them AlayaCare we actually started onboarding with them and backed out because they had no project plan …
AxisCare Home Care Software is so much easier to use. It is simple to use and clear on what is needed in charts and for authorizations. AxisCare Home Care Software also has a report for anything you can think of and these reports are so easy to read.
No contest, customer service, capabilities with reporting, tracking invoices, receiving payment, auditing caregiver and client charts for compliance. AxisCare allows us to spend less time searching for the information so we can focus on caring for our clients.
If you like data and analyzing data then Axiscare is well suited for your outfit. If you have office staff members that are not very computer-savvy or interested in deeper dives into numbers then my belief is that AxisCare may not be the best software for you, as it may seem like too much information. However, AxisCare's support teams have been helpful to us and I am sure they could help navigate any difficulties an agency may have.
ClearCare/WellSky is not a software I would go out of my way to endorse. The coding bugs are numerous and fixing those bugs is not at all a priority. Unfortunately, it is still the most robust platform of it's kind - reporting, customization, integrations, automation capabilities, mobile app for caregivers - and with it becoming part of WellSky I am hopeful they will now have the resources to allocate for bug squishing
Providing the scheduling team with the tools to share client/ visit information with the caregivers.
Documentation. From client visit notes to managerial notes about an employee to keeping track of chat conversations. These are all great ways to hold people in the company accountable.
Helps me keep a "To Do List" better known as the Tasks Dashboard. I can write quick notes of what I need to do or I can assign the task to someone in the company.
The ability to customize reports is very helpful. I am looking forward to all of the legacy reports getting updated to the more customizable form.
The ability to auto-run and share reports is extremely helpful. I don't have to remember every day, week, or month to run the report. All I need to do is check my email and AxisCare Home Care Software sends me a notice telling me my report is done.
The ability to create our own forms is convenient. AxisCare Home Care Software will also build a form for us if we request it and pay a small fee.
AxisCare Home Care Software is integrated with different companies that provide services in a way to streamline it instead of having to find some program or company that is outside of AxisCare Home Care Software. For example, we now use AxisCare Home Care Software to complete all of our Background Checks.
Managing the scheduling process form the employee and client standpoint. In one screen we can see exactly what is going on with a client. Who's there, when they arrived, when they will be leaving, etc. Plus we can manage up to the minute changes in the care plan, in real time.
Payment processing allows us to bill and initiate client payments with a few clicks. It automatically reconciles accounts receivable. It handles both credit card and ACH payments. Saves a bunch of time.
Background checks are fast and easy because they are integrated into the platform. When a potential employee applies it starts the system begins all the steps in the hiring process. Once they get to orientation and have completed all of the other hiring process steps, with one click we initiate a customized background check that meets our licensing requirements.
Updating all reports, the reports that are still old are really hard to use and the custom reports aren't nearly as functional as the others.
Medicaid Mileage should be added in as a part of the authorizations so that we can track the available miles just like we do the hours.
Ability to text or message contacts or the responsible parties of leads - just one way messaging but bc the first steps of acquiring a lead are email / text / call it makes it hard to complete that in a secure way. If we had to text normally we open ourselves up for HIPAA concerns but we could one way text instead to get in touch with the lead and know that we are staying compliant.
Admin app should be fully functional for medications and MARs - you can't manage any of that from the Admin app and have to use the website instead. This is hard to work with when in the field or updating a med list while on an assessment with a client.
Offline mode on the App - both CG and Admin app have glitchy offline mode that makes it kinda useless at times.
ClearCare does experience times when the system glitches. You cannot add or edit shifts, see client or caregiver details, nothing. They don't have anything in place that reassures you that they are aware of the problem and are working to fix it. It doesn't usually happen more than a few times a year, but we rely so heavily on this software for the daily operation of our business that even 15 minutes down can prove to be catastrophic.
You can call tech support, but overall I have found them rather unhelpful. I don't usually stay on hold long enough to get a live person, preferring to send an email if it's not an urgent need. I have been disappointed with the time it takes to resolve issues; the longest I went without a fix was about 8 months. They are pretty slow to change when it's something that has been suggested by the network publically. Moreover, sometimes the changes they implement make things more difficult for us or require features or functionality that we would prefer not to use. For example, they are rolling out a new feature that will allow the caregivers to enter their own availability in the system. We require them to contact the office to change their availability or request time off and plan to do everything we can to keep it that way.
The mobile version of the administrative site is essentially the desktop version, but tiny. When we are out and about after hours, inevitably we use our cell phones to utilize the software. Any shift adjustments are tedious, as the pop-up box moves around whenever you edit a field. To be fair, I'm not sure that the time and energy it would take to redesign the mobile site would be worth it when we still get all the functionality of the full site, even if it is harder to maneuver.
AxisCare Home Care Software has a lot of features that are helpful in the roles we play at [...] Arkansas. The support is fantastic! I do wish there were more features for users to store documents for themselves such as weekly task lists and monitoring forms that they would normally email to me or upload to Google Drive for storage. This however isn't something that would cause our company to switch software programs.
Once use to the system Axis Care is fairly easy to navigate and is a pretty clean system. I wish the main profile page for clients and caregivers were laid out more similarly (Ex: Classes for a caregiver are on the main profile page but the classes for clients are hiding under their billing tab. Another example is there's a Notes tab for clients but everything in that tab for a caregiver is located on their profile page) It would make it easier for new user training and knowledge retention if they were located in the same spots
I have used ClearCare for about a year now and have only experienced positive outcomes with the system. It has everything you need from simple note reminders to detailed medial information regarding your client. If anyone in the health field takes the time to view this software, they would be hooked.
We had no issues with the availability of the system, it has been reliable so far, the only issues were geo location at some point due to staff being in rural areas, geo location will fail to pick up.
They have been incredibly helpful and willing to assist with every situation we have encountered. There have been some instances where they were unsure of what the issue we were experiencing was or how to fix it. They attempted though and were very responsive.
They are reasonably responsive with simple questions, but when it comes to the software not functioning as expected, resolution is very slow. I had a situation where I would click "cancel" in a scheduling window and it would go ahead and make the change (i.e. I didn't realize a caregiver wasn't actually available or that it would create over time, so I would cancel out of that window to go reevaluate, but when it closed that window, the change would be made regardless). That took 8 months for them to resolve, during which time they released a number of relatively useless updates. Currently, I am waiting for them to fix Safe Mode, which is supposed to give us basic access to personnel and scheduling. A select few clients/caregivers actually show up in this system, rendering it largely useless. I have been waiting since late August without an update or resolution, it is currently mid-February. For software that touts safe mode, I would think they would make sure it's actually functional for all users. They have to advertise it in the network because the software goes down with some frequency, at least every few months.
The training was easy to implement and understand. We had no issues completing all the training offered by the Axis staff. They were all very knowledgeable about the product and walked us through every step until the go-live day. We did the hand-holding until the end, our staff was very pleased with the patience of our trainers and thankful for their understanding, helping to be sure we were well-trained and ready for our go-live date. We are grateful. Thanks again to the trainers.
I would give this training a high rating because it was thorough and easy to understand. The trainers were detailed and very helpful throughout the transition process. They promptly addressed any concerns or issues, making it simple to set up the new Axis system and app. The support received when we encountered minor issues was excellent as well; they worked with us until everything was functioning properly. Overall, the experience was smooth and effective, leading to a successful implementation of the system.
We used eRSP solutions before switching to AxisCare Home Care Software. I think AxisCare Home Care Software does a better job at organization and definitely better with customization than eRSP. AxisCare Home Care Software also has more features than eRSP did.
This is a similar system that was created for organizational purposes for health businesses. Ortho2 is not as user friendly and takes much longer to learn the different ins and outs of the software system. I used it for over six years and still did not use all of the features in the system
AxisCare data is critical to our company profitability, growth, and efficiency. The ability to utilize data effectively provides us with the means to grow and expand responsibly.
Our projections for business growth suggest we will double our new client setup labor (AxisCare setup) for the same amount of profit stream. Only with the efficiency of AxisCare will it be possible to support the added labor required for this effort.
End of month reports, quarterly reports, progress notes, and billing data are supported well by AxisCare. These items could be streamlined to further reduce our data processing labor.
AxisCare is missing client associated protocol plans and other risk assessment documents. These should be available to the client and caregiver as associated with the needs of that client.
POSITIVE IMPACT: We can access almost any metric related to the business and build reports that allow us to set goals, identify potential issues, maintain oversight, and automate workflows with the report scheduling
NEGATIVE IMPACT: We've been dealing with the same software bugs for over 5 years now, they slow productivity, create room for user error, require workarounds to be created, you name it, just a lot of work to make the platform's shortcomings better since they refuse to do it for us
