Lately we just haven't been that confident with the software and service. There have been a lot of miscommunications, more price increases and less solutions. A lot of the software support people aren't 100% knowledgeable of what certain changes they help to make do the the software as a whole and it's really concerning

BMC Track-It!

Track-It! is great for a small-to-medium sized enterprise that has a fairly small IT department but needs far more control of tickets than just email and spreadsheets. It scales well enough as IT departments grow, adding techs is simple enough, as is changing the workflow.A large company would probably be better off with a different solution. The lack of easy customization, and the shortcomings it has in workflow templates (which would be a nightmare for project management) means it won't scale up that far.

  • The software is simple to use. There doesn't seem to be a lot of bells and whistles which could be attractive to some users.
  • It includes email notifications where users are able to respond to an email and it updates the ticket.
  • The system gives you the ability to customize your view so that you only need to see that tickets that are relevant to you or your group.

  • We are still unable to use Attendance Management after being live on Dayforce for over a year. We have been told that one of our attendance policies can't be done in the system even though we were promised it could be done at the time we were choosing Dayforce. For our other policies, they are not working properly and no one we've worked with at Ceridian seems to understand Attendance. Our policies are very simple so this has been extremely disappointing.
  • Dayforce Support is a crapshoot. When submitting a ticket you can never be sure if you will receive a Support Rep who is knowledgeable and committed to resolving your issue or a Rep who is just trying to get that ticket closed and out of their queue. We receive inconsistent and incorrect responses fairly frequently. I've had to rely on a User Group for more accurate solutions.
  • Although we like the Recruiting feature, we would like to see more flexibility in that module. More tokens for the Offer Letter, more flexibility in the application questionnaire, etc.
  • Reporting is not intuitive and it seems to be becoming less so as new releases come out. It seems Ceridian is moving towards wanting clients to have Professional Services create all of their reports.
  • We would like to see better audits between WFM and Payroll. It is still too easy to miss hours in WFM that aren't picked up in Payroll.
  • Ceridian Tax Service has been extremely slow in handling questions. The Source Tax Online tool is clunky and difficult to extract information if you have a tax issue.

  • Care must be taken when configuring automatic replies otherwise you can end up in an endless loop of emails if response goes to another auto-responder. This will cause tickets to automatically be generated with every reply and then it takes a while to clean up the unwanted tickets.
  • The support model is prohibitively expensive if you let support lapse and then need support once again. This is because they expect you to pay for all of the previous versions/years between when you last paid for support and their current version. This means that if there have been 3 versions of the software since you last had support, they expect you to pay for the 3 versions even if you did not use them. This is a primary reason why we are looking at alternative ticketing systems currently.
  • It would be nice to have the ability to selectively kick a user our of a ticket without having to kick them entirely out of the application.

Dayforce is a cloud based, integrated system and as a whole is very user friendly. Dayforce allows managers to easily deal with day to day activities because all of the information is in one spot. Long gone are the days that a manager needs to log into separate systems to verify an employees timesheet, requests for time off, etc. By providing ease of use, our managers get more time back in their day to do other things.

Most of the time the support is great; it's not always super efficient but I always get the help I need. Occasionally it takes a lot longer than we had hoped or get conflicting responses. We had one ticket recently where we were told we would have to pay the service team to support us on the project and then another person called the next day with the solution to our query and was able to find a solution easily. Generally, though, the response is great and they either walk me though how to do something via a Zoom Meeting or they email step-by-step instructions on how to do it and say if I have questions we can set up a meeting to discuss further.

I only gave it this rating for the fact that we did not really use their support for much of the time we used the product. The support documentation in the actual program seemed to be lacking, so finding the information via the web or the vendor's site provided more helpful, from a support standpoint. I did notice that the vendor does have a portal where you can manage support cases and also has live phone support and an email option. All of these options are good for any customer that needs good support while using the product

Depending on your organization size, you have to be very particular with the ITSM that you choose. Track-It! does the work we need it to right now. However, we will soon need to use something like Jira in order to become a next-generation service desk.

Overall, we are extremely happy with the Dayforce WFM module. Our biggest pain point is concerning the twice annual software upgrades - which is the only reason I haven't rated them as a '10'. Because every customer is configured differently, the upgrades can sometimes have adverse effects on our current configured policies/rules. And although they roll-out the upgraded version in a test environment several weeks before go-live, not all testing is accurate in that environment. Some issues do not present themselves until you are working with live punches.

  • There's no paper handling for employee's PTO requests, manager approvals, etc. This is a huge time-saving and hassle-saving aspect of the system.
  • Employees no longer print out their paychecks - it's all on the app. And we pay less for mailing checks all over the place.
  • Employees enroll in their benefits now, which was also a huge time, paper, and cost saving!
  • Employees attest that they received all of their meals and rests via the biometric clocks, so paper doesn't have to be kept - the system tracks that info now.

  • We were able to consolidate down to one ticketing system and build it to fit our needs without any extra add ons.
  • Adoption did have some trouble with people trying to manipulate the data entry system to match the reports they wanted. This resulted in some wasted time as the system was reset and those individuals were removed from the implementation team.
  • This was able to eliminate many spreadsheets for tracking project work. This eliminated 'lost' projects and work and kept progress going forward.
  • The built in reporting replaced hours of work creating reports out of spreadsheets and emails.
  • We moved our help documents to their Solutions knowledge base and were able to eliminate a separate wiki server for holding that information.
