Classy is great for continual fundraising throughout the year. The volunteers at my nonprofit create a page that they use for the entire year to fundraise in their networks. Each spring we use Classy for event planning purposes, specifically to sell tickets and track attendee information. It's great for fundraising events - the website is easy for donors and attendees to use, and you can customize it pretty much however you need. Plenty of freedom on the admin side.

For our organization, Greater Giving is the best option because of the credit card swiping, the ease of the registration, and the tax receipts alone. I do wish that it would allow us to pass on the credit card fees to the purchaser, but for that reason, we don't use it for registration. For an organization NOT needing to swipe credit cards at the event for on-site purchases or using their tax receipt software, I do think that there are more affordable options.

Classy
- Campaigns lack customization options which can be limiting- while you can add code to make some changes, there is a basic framework that you can't always override.
- Slow to roll out some donor payment options like Venmo.
- Not inexpensive price point and on an annual contract, so the software is definitely an investment.

- Reports have frequent glitches; especially when downloading large amounts of data (more than 500 records).
- Lacks data integration capabilities with other systems (Salesforce, Constant Contact, Zoho, etc.); I have found workarounds by uploading and downloading reports, but it really is a pain
- Customer Support is terrible! The online support is uncaring and completely incompetent. On the other hand, the phone support is really friendly and generally quite knowledgeable about the product and solutions.

VERY easy to use, but lacks flexibility. But very easy to learn and master, even for someone with technical skills. They offer live chat which is a great help for on-demand support. At higher call volumes, you may wait 10 minutes, but I’ve never waited for more than that and the support if 90% of the time very helpful.

Great for beginners. Easy to get up and running quickly. I did worry a bit about my end-users accidentally changing or deleting data.

Classy's team was very helpful as we transitioned over, and helped us get everything set up quite easily. The few times we've had issues or questions, their online chat feature has been a quick way to get answers. On Giving Tuesday last year, the site went down, but Classy was quick with communication to its clients and had the problem resolved in about an hour. I know that if we have any problems or questions, the company and its team will be responsive and helpful. That makes a difference to me and our small team. We don't have time to troubleshoot or stay on hold for a long time waiting for support.

Online support was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had (I would give them a 1). Phone support and implementation support were very nice and knowledgeable.

It was a huge mistake to switch away from Classy to FrontStream Panorama. Classy is much easier to use and much simpler to design. While FrontStream can be a bit more customized in its design it requires extensive knowledge of HTML or CSS coding, which is not ideal for a small nonprofit with a small staff. We were with FrontStream for almost a year and in that time period, they were unable to correctly link our Salesforce to their platform. For almost an entire year their team could not help us correctly push in data. Their customer service is awful. Additionally, we used their other platform, Bidding for Good, during our Gala and it did not work. We ended up getting a full refund. Pulling reports from Frontstream was complicated and archaic. Classy makes it easy for us to see our data and get what we need.

- This has been nothing but positive. We use the basic version so there is no fee associated with it other than a percentage of each transaction. So everything that comes in is added revenue where the only investment is staff time, but there is no monetary investment.

- The reporting improved our abilities to provide accurate information more timely to the finance department - a plus when completing the annual 990 or other information for our auditors.
- We saw an increase in collecting on pledges when we switched from a "text-to-give" platform (from another provider) to incorporating all event elements into Greater Giving. We were able to capture over 95% of gifts within 48 hours of the event compared to less than half that amount in previous years.
- The reports generated by Greater Giving are better received by our board of directors - easier to digest and provide meaningful analytics
