Likelihood to Recommend Grammarly is a step ahead of the traditional spelling and grammar checking tool that is in-built with Microsoft Word. There are scenarios when you have to write long-form content, and depending on your normal day-to-day way of speech, you tend to write content using the same tone and sentence constructs. There may be nothing "wrong" as such, but Grammarly points out those small glitches in your text, which you considered to be correct but is not really correct. One such area is the usage of "passive voice" in the sentences that I used to write. I find Grammarly really helpful here.
Read full review Read&Write is definitely suited to supporting learners of all abilities in accessing learning. Its on-demand nature is really powerful, giving children the support, confidence, and scaffolds to access their learning without any stigma or the need to be embarrassed when asking for help from a teacher or another adult in the classroom.
Read full review Pros Integration with existing tools - Grammarly works in practically all text areas across your browser, including email and things like Google Docs, etc. Quality control - the meat of Grammarly is checking your text and writing in real-time, directly as you type. Most of the time, Grammarly provides very accurate recommendations and quality checks on your text. Analytics and reporting - Grammarly sends regular updates via email about your usage statistics and other detailed info. This type of reporting can be very helpful in tracking your progress over time. Read full review Read&Write works well with Word in Office 365 (we are a Microsoft board) Read&Write is excellent in the speech to text and text to speech areas. We love the prediction tool, especially for users whop are apprehensive to dictate yet still require spelling support. We love the collect highlights feature, especially when we are researching a webpage in order to write a research paper. We love the summarize tool! Read full review Cons Somewhat expensive. Grammarly itself does not guarantee 100% correctness. Sometimes, it does not remove the marked error even when you have corrected it. Its MS office version faces some issues with plagiarism detection. I have to go on the web version to use plagiarism detection. Read full review I wish the Check It tool was available on the web (only in GDocs currently) I wish the highlighter/collect highlights would collect citation information (kind of a combination of MyBib and highlighters) One weird thing with the Reading tools (text-to-speech) is that if you are zoomed in to FIT on a GDoc it does glitchy stuff (skipping or not displaying) vs when you are at 100% zoom why isn't Rewordify in Read&Write in a Google Doc? only on web version? Same for Simplify text tool. Read full review Likelihood to Renew As an assistive technology software that revolutionizes literacy experiences. Read full review Usability I can easily access it in Word by clicking on the menu widget - where I do most of my writing. (Would love one for Powerpoint too???)

Read full review Support Rating I have not really used customer support. I used the FAQ page to see how to re-install Grammarly because it wasn't functioning properly in longer documents. It seems to be working better now, but it still does not always underline all of the issues in the actual text. Thus, it is sometimes difficult to know where the errors are located.
Read full review I always appreciate the emails with tips, tricks, videos and professional development. The tool is often changing for the better and it's good to stay in the loop. I have also been pleased with the tech support from Texthelp when needed. However, we rarely need tech support for the product. Our sales rep has helped us renew our license multiple times!

Read full review Alternatives Considered I have not used anything like Grammarly before and that is probably why I love it so much. It works very well for what I need. Plus, it goes above and beyond. I don't need it all the time but it is great to use in any communication occasion. I love it
Read full review Clicker was missing from the list. The benefit of using Read&Write over other software has been its integration with Google, and that it brings all the features into one toolbar. This means we are not adding additional cognitive load to our students.
