Our review of alternatives concluded that ADP TotalSource is too expensive, too complex and lacks transparency, even for large companies. TriNet was much better, but post-acquisition it too has become less agile. Paychex isn't as comprehensive. There are literally dozens of …
We switched from TriNet to JustWorks for a number of reasons. TriNet's platform was outdated and consistently used third-party sites. None of their reporting was correct, nothing was integrated and my employees had an extremely difficult time finding and accessing anything they …
JustWorks is MUCH easier to use. The user interface is light years ahead of TriNet. Though JustWorks has a smaller number of health insurance plans available, I found it easier to navigate their selections because of the 1-pagers they provide and because there weren't SO many …
Justworks is cheaper, more intuitive, and easier to use than other tools. It has a clean interface, unlike TriNet which I have used at a previous company (3+ years ago). TriNet does provide better HR services through your account manager who is an HR specialist, unlike …
They are similar tools in what they do. Justworks is a little easier to navigate; TriNet does have the Time-off estimator. Justworks is a much better cost for a very comparable product.
Everything is very transparent about their pricing, documentation, and straight forward services they offer. The other had such a more corporate feel and their sales tactics were much more aggressive. They others dont seem to understand that calling me constantly in this day …
Rippling was recommended by one of my mentors and used at my previous company. We migrated off Gusto for one main reason - the increased options for benefits coverage were much more attractive for a growing company with employees in different parts of the US. I haven't used TriN…
Rippling is easy to set up and the various vendors like workers comp and 401K are well integrated creating ease of use. We used TriNet in the past and Rippling provides far greater control and transparency. The other are vendors we considered when we left TriNet and were …
I used Justworks in my previous company. I feel like compared to other products, Rippling has more features - I used to use Justwork to keep track of my payroll and Divvy for travel reimbursement. Rippling is more powerful and I don't need to switch to different products any …
We’ve used both ADP TotalSource and TriNet in the past, and while they got the job done, Rippling represents a major leap forward in several key areas. The ease of use is night and day—Rippling’s platform is intuitive and modern, making it much simpler to manage payroll, …
I recently moved an employer/company to Rippling from TriNet. The experience has been oustanding and this employer is very happy with the move to Rippling. The service support from TriNet is severely lacking and it is very difficult for employers and employees to get any …
Rippling is much better than both of these platforms. Justworks and Insperity's user interfaces felt like they hadn't been updated in decades and were clunky to navigate. Rippling was organized from the start and had a specific place for everything I needed regarding my HR, …
I think Rippling has a much better user interface than Zenefits. Once we transitioned to Rippling, there was an immediate improvement in quality. It is not to say that Zenefits or TriNet are not solid competitors or behind the times but, in my opinion, Rippling is just a step …
Rippling performs well against Justworks, and I didn't struggle at all with the new interface. It also does well for change management, as it was easy for our company to switch over to Rippling instead of using Justworks.
Rippling stands out for its seamless automation, configurability and breadth of integration. Compared with Workday, Rippling is much easier to manage, no need for specialised admin teams and allows anyone to build or adjust workflows quickly. Compared to Justworks, Rippling …
Rippling is a much more modern-feeling platform with a better and more clear UI. TriNet was hard to navigate and visualize even basic things such as PTO balance. I'll say that the I haven't been able to use Rippling's mobile app pretty much ever which was not the case with TriNe…
Compared to TriNet, Rippling stands out for its cleaner, more modern interface and overall ease of use. Navigating workflows feels more intuitive, and tasks require fewer steps. Rippling's design makes day-to-day HR and payroll management more efficient and accessible for …
Rippling is the perfect balance between a PEO and a standalone payroll system. They have all the functions, features and support that a company needs, but allows the user (company) the flexibility to utilize the system with control. Other systems were missing this feature, …
Rippling provides a higher level of customization and flexibility compared to Gusto. Including workflows, and reporting. Rippling provides a robust self-service portal where employees can manage their own benefits, time off, and other HR-related tasks that I haven't found as …
Rippling provides a better user experience compared to the other product that I used in the past. It's more user friendly and easy to look up most of the features. Rippling also provides recommendations on other features that are not currently in use but available to be used if …
Rippling has a way better UI and is easier to work with compared to these other products. I hope our company considers implementing the features of Expensify (for reimbursement) and Navan (for travel) into Rippling as I have had issues with both of those products and imagine …
Rippling is new, its hip and it knows what's up. It easy to use and all the successful brands are using it. Why would you complicate things? Other products were confusing and just kind of old school.
Rippling is very user friendly and makes sense cost-wise for our organization. It’s so intuitive to use compared to other platforms. It was very quick to get our team up and running. It does what it needs to do in a simple and effective way. It also is customizable to the level …
Has all of the bells & whistles + more! Rippling is slick, intuitive, and getting better by the day. We needed an HRIS that was able to keep up with our rapid growth.
Rippling is far superior in my personal opinion. Rippling has a better user interface and a more modern feel. TriNet was old school and could use a refresh. Other features that I prefer are the ability to access anything from insurance docs to retirement links in Rippling. Both …

Very bottom of the list - I did not select TriNet, as I joined the company after it had already been implemented and in use for some time. If I had been involved, Rippling and/or Zenefits would have been my top choices due to their wide breadth of HR/Payroll/People support …
I did review Justworks and they provided us a price with almost $20k savings with more benefits than TriNet offers. We are still considering the opportunity to switch but want to make sure we are incredibly prepared before switching and we have the appropriate discussions with …
TriNet offered similar functionalities to other PEOs like Insperity & Justworks, though for our particular company size & needs was the most cost competitive.
Frankly, I didn't select TriNet, I inherited it from our previous HR manager. I am not sure that I would have selected it. While I would not have selected Justworks, I have had amazing experiences with ADP and based on cost and options would have been more likely to choose them …
I liked Rippling's software better than TriNet. However, the pricing on employee benefits was through the roof, and they don't offer many selections/options. If it was a software only decision, I would go with Rippling (the 2.0 version of Zenefits which TriNet offers). However, …
Both Insperity and TriNet have failed us in the same and different ways. Justworks was initially more expensive for benefits than TriNet. However, TriNet's benefits renewed with an average 10% increase, so we did not see savings for very long. If we could just be free of a …
I used Insperity for 1 year. they sold me mid year and screwed up our health insurance (something they promised me wouldn't happen which made the relationship start off bad. Their service was pretty good though, they were helpful just a little more expensive and had better …

Rippling seems a bit easier with an easier, user friendly UI
We use Justworks quite a bit, but the difference is the designated support specialist. They only offer a general # to call into or a chat box. Also, they don't offer an audit prior to payroll processing, which I find helpful to keep accuracy and detect any errors. The JW …
Rippling is more of a tech company than HR. They didn’t provide a specific point of contact but a generic email address for customer success/support. Overall, the platform looked better than TriNet, but we were not sold on the EPLI they offered. We didn’t hear good things from …

TriNet is quite similar, but not as user-friendly. The support is much better in my experience, though.
Not listed in the database is CoAdvantage, another excellent competitor that is under the radar. In any case, all three offer dramatically higher quality product, better benefits negotiation and stronger customer support. In my opinion, they are clearly going after clients who …
In my opinion, TriNet is old and slow compared to some of the others.

I didn't select TriNet, it was at my organization when I got here. No one at TriNet gave my company information on how hard it is to move companies in the middle of the quarter. Even UKG did that. I think that every other system works better.

Response time is much better with TriNet. All parts of their site are well-designed for a smooth user experience. Administration costs are reasonable (some others are offensively high and remind you that you could just hire another FT employee to do this work).

Justworks is a competitively priced product for small businesses and start-ups and, in my opinion, offers a better product and better customer service than larger PEOs competing in the same small-buisiness space (ex. ADP). I believe Justworks would work well for companies up to 200 employees; after that, I believe a bigger PEO may provide an enterprise solution better suited for a larger company (and their HR reporting needs)
It has a favourites section for commonly used functions. This is perfect for logging in pre-sift and managing my timekeeping. It is easy to view my payslip. It is well-documented and accurate, and it also provides me with an accurate timeline for when to expect my pay to clear. Overall, very easy to use and great interface.
I truly believe TriNet is the best PEO out there. Our specialist, [...], was top notch and always made me feel special. I appreciate all the features available, not just for my employees but for me, as an HR specialist. The benefits I am now able to offer is why we joined but all the features and ease of use is what will keep us clients moving forward. My only issue was feeling a bit rushed through training. I was told I would get written procedures but they were pretty antiquated.
Onboarding employees on their first day. We use Justworks to set up the employee calculate the first payroll, and perform the I9 employment verification. The process is seamless and all can be done electronically and automated which makes it very simple
Payroll processing. Justworks automatically calculates the payroll earnings, related taxes and withholdings and will automatically withdraw and deposit the funds. This is a seamless experience
Customer Service. Justworks is incredibly responsive and helpful. HR related issues can be a nightmare but Justworks make it easier and more efficient since they are always on call to answer your questions and make life easier.
Customer support is great when working with Amy Hoffman. She's always very quick to respond and helpful. I'd say she's the thing that makes me want to stay with TriNet the most.
The webinars are very helpful. I utilize those frequently and our CFO has signed up for some as well.
The expense management system has been very helpful. There are a couple issues with it, but it's leaps better than what the company was doing before this system through TriNet.
JustWorks couldn't accurately track our PTO. We use an accrual system that maxes out at 88 hours. We incentivise our employees with additional PTO hours based off of goals met. The JustWorks platform allowed our employees to accrue far more PTO than what was offered. They didn't have a feature that offered a Cap and accrual.
When using the JustWorks reports for 401K, if not using their integrated 401K provider, the reports give you every employee regardless of whether or not they contribute. This makes it difficult when adding the contributions in separately.
JustWorks tracks historical data for employees. Whenever there is a salary change made, it keeps track. However, it shows a salary adjustment made on the day they are entered into JustWorks which can be very confusing. We switched from another PEO mid year and it looked like I made salary changes on the beginning date. This made it difficult to differentiate an actual salary adjustment.
Rippling could improve their payment days. Currently they make employee payments around the 15th and 30th of the month, but it varies slightly with every month. It would make more sense to do this payment on every other Friday or every other Monday.
The AI assistant has always been able to direct me to the correct solution to any question i have about Rippling. Payroll is so easy, it takes about 10 minutes to go through the process.
e are currently seeing a massive shift in HR tech, with rapid strides being made in the integration of AI and Machine Learning models. These advancements allow for:Predictive analytics for workforce planning.Automated, intelligent chatbots for instant employee support.Smart data synthesis that provides actionable insights rather than just raw numbers.TriNet appears to be lagging in these areas, missing opportunities to leverage AI to reduce administrative overhead and improve data accuracy
Justworks is a really good platform for payroll and even vendor payments. There are some areas of improvement that Justworks could make in the area of bulk processing, to decrease administrative time as well as reporting. There are no reports we currently use from the Justworks platform as we have not found them useful.
It's extremely user friendly! I've used some awful UI in tools before, and Rippling is not one of them. It's very clear where certain things can be found, and it's very easy to update/change any information whether it's employee info or a policy. Our implementation was a breeze and getting everyone onboard was as simple as sending an email.
The platform is highly intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy to navigate for both admins and employees when handling everyday tasks like payroll processing, benefits enrollment, and HR reporting. The flexibility in HR and payroll features does not require a need for extensive training. The mobile app stands out as amazing, with a great interface that enables quick access to employee related items
I like that the availability in using Rippling at any given time is useful to me. Getting on the site freely when I need gives me security of knowing that I can be in control of viewing health insurance and hours information. I have yet to get any errors in using the Rippling app.
We had an issue with application errors - took TriNet 5 months to fix it, mean while we had someone manually tracking and keeping up with many requests and questions about the application error which affected time off. When we were all registering for Benefits during open enrollment there were lots of bugs that caused issues with registering for benefits or being able to see what benefits were available
Rippling's performance has been great, no errors or glitches yet so far. I am confident that Going from one page to the next and all its complexity usage does not lag or times out, it works effectively and efficiently. While using Rippling and other apps it does not tend to slow it down, works great. No complaints.
For the most part pages load quickly. Working for a software company we understand performance is everything, even a few seconds delay can feel like a lifetime, that being said, we ran into a few times where pages didn't load, information didn't load correctly, and an influx in users (like open enrollment) cause things to slow down
Justworks offers many different options for customer service. You can contact them via email, phone or Slack. They are quick to resolve issues and if your Account Manager is out of office, they have other Managers covering your account who are knowledgable and ready to support. They also have an office in New York, which makes their support even more localized.
I have contacted support one time, and I was assisted by the Artificial Intelligence bot. Not only did it help with my inquiry, but it also went the extra mile by suggesting other options. I was looking for a feature I could not find, and it was very helpful. It would be nice also to chat with an actual person.
The support overall is very good. There seems to be a good number of customer support staff and they are knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with and it almost all cases are able to resolve the question or issue very quickly. My only complaint would be having to wait in some cases as I'm based in the UK and the correct department may not be open 24 hours.
it's been awhile, but I recall them being helpful. I got through a lot of it and when I needed help, they can walk me through it over the phone. It's also pretty user friendly in general at a platform. I don't really know what else to type, but they came and helped me in person and also when there was something new, they came and talked to me. They have not done that since with the new model that I hate
Since this was already implemented. I have another employee briefly train me. Then Trinet rep gave me some training as needed for things that came up. For one payroll preview report I figured it could be done, but I had asked the rep to be sure. One important training was when there was an employee leaving the company.
It's really easy to implement in comparison to other tools or applications. Different key points are easily configured and implemented as per need, having different configurations in systems. Implementation is something which binds the different parameters of an organization in a single row. Implementation of rippling is much easier, quicker, and error free than any other software. I recommend it strongly!
not applicable as I implementation was done 5 years ago and have no recollection of the details of the process. Above it says to skip question if not involved in the process but it will not allow me to skip it as it states explanation requitred thus making this process extremely frustrating.
Justworks is a much simpler platform with better pricing. I remember ADP's cost was tied to a certain percentage of the total payroll, which is not ideal if you have highly compensated employees. Though ADP offered more ancillary benefit options and group employee discounts, we feel Justworks suffices and meets our daily HR needs.
Rippling has a much more modern, user-friendly approach, and it continues to build out their product suite to help create a seamlessly integrated eco-system. BambooHR is also more modern, but doesn't seem to have the broad product suite that Rippling is pursuing. UKG felt so disconnected and archaic to work with... quite painful, actually. I really like that Rippling has been extremely supportive with the onboarding process, ensuring that you work with various members of their implementation team to get things up and running which leads to a better experience and quicker ROI.
I liked Rippling's software better than TriNet. However, the pricing on employee benefits was through the roof, and they don't offer many selections/options. If it was a software only decision, I would go with Rippling (the 2.0 version of Zenefits which TriNet offers). However, the software isn't a major need, compared to smooth payroll and benefits that I get from TriNet (and great service). I'm happy at TriNet long term as long as the health insurance rates aren't exhorbinant.
I can go on here and see all my hours and pto plus health benefits. I like to have the work handbook handy to refer to legal things. How to work my role within it's limits. Being able to put in my hours and view when they are approved is a huge benefit for me.
We are a small company, do we use it across departments and sites? Yes, we are all remote working, so there are as many sites as there are people. We also have our entire staff using TriNet, so every department from Accounting, Admin, HR, Development, QA, and Management are all using this. Can't say for sure how great the scalability is as we are only about 30 employees
We're still new to Justworks, but for nearly everyone on our team, this is the dealmaker. Benefits plans are worth more than salaries to the best hires. In fact, part of the process we used to choose Justworks was to send their offering, in advance, to our team to approve of, first.
Stay within HR Compliance - when the new laws about Salary change came into effect I received an email on impacted employees and how to address.
More involvement in employee benefits. With greater benefit selection more employees were able to find plans that suited their needs.
The TimeClock took a little time to get used to. It is still a little frustrating at times for hourly employees to be able to track how many hours they actually have for the week/pay-period. The off the clock meals count towards "hours" and employees have to subtract that out to be able to see what they need for the rest of the week.
