Without a doubt, I would recommend this platform for all those companies that want to apply a data collection model that is totally different from the usual one. Today, many companies collect data individually for each sector and must analyze it individually, however, having SAP Hana in the company would change that entire analysis process. SAP Hana optimizes data collection and achieves that data is obtained in real time, in addition, it offers an advanced system to generate instant reports with the information collected. SAP Hana collects all the information from various data sources, in one place, so it is easier to analyze the data without having to do it individually. It is a very complicated software to use, its implementation process is complex, but with a trained team, it will be possible to implement it in a few weeks.

  • Amazing integration capabilities with every other application out there. There will be no need to create external bridges to connect anything with SAP CRM since, it natively supports almost every application. We use it for ERP integrations as well.
  • Pull any type of reports with whatever data/format/time date range you want. This capability is also robust in SAP CRM, so it you need not spend hours creating reports manually. Reports can be pulled from the console itself.
  • Inbuilt modules are capable of almost any requirement. There are additional modules available as well, which can be installed on top of SAP CRM.
  • Customisability is also one of the great feature of this platform. Multiple variants can be created and saved for later use.

  • Multi Store Tables - allowing to store data in default store and extended store as per data ageing.
  • In Production Environment it allows same host deployments (Hana host + Dynamic Tiering). No need to have separate dedicated server for each of them.
  • Incremental and differential backups - Reducing backup times and storage requirements.

Cons

  • SAP CRM Mobility is not successful so it is important to improve on this. Things have gotten much better since SAP acquitted Cyclo which works very well. We would like to see Cyclo expanded beyond sales management and inventory management to handle some of the other capabilities that the SAP CRM Mobility offered. However, Cyclo has brought incredible progress in this area.

  • Support - hard to find resources online so you are often dealing with an issue for a while.
  • UI could be more intuative, takes a while to get use to or train users.
  • Using a couple of models can make it not respond effectively.
  • Doesn't support text data type.

The main reason is ease of integration with other SAP systems (ECC, BW, etc...), but also SAP CRM provides functionality that hasn't evolved as much in other competing CRM systems (mainly Trade Promotion Management and Market Resource Management). Additionally, I'm excited about the direction that SAP is headed with putting their business suite on HANA (in-memory relational database management system) and creating a better user experience with SAP Fiori.

At this moment we are not focusing on SAP, however would love to in the future. This is primarily because of our limited ability to generate more revenue to fund for SAP partnerships and products. Our initial tryst with SAP Partneredge open ecosystem didn't go as planned and we have shelved that for now. Hope we can revive in the future

The usability experience is great and I have nothing to complain about. Given the minimum technical requirements the tool works without delays, crashes and errors. At SAP CRM we have everything at our fingertips in a single tool for our business. As developer software I have a lot of relationships with customers and suppliers and the tool collaborates a lot on my journey.

SAP has a good support system for their all products in general and the support teams are easy to connect in a matter of assistance requirement. There are multiple support channels available for the customers to be able to get answered for their problems, the most easiest as per my experience is live chat, as we get instant assistance from the real persons at the other end and that too in real-time.

I can definitely confirm that SAP HANA cloud solution is by far the best seeing that their machine learning capabilities and sophisticated algorithms are worth the cost. It also leads in in-memory database features hence its great performance.

  • The [strategies] and the time consumed on migrating to HANA was time [consuming] and costly during the initial phases of the project.
  • The time and resources utilized to set up the infra plan from requirements to production was huge.
  • But once we were getting into cadence of utilizing the open architecture of HANA we were able to utilize its features that helped us to leverage.
  • Again I would say that overall for us HANA [has] proved to be worth spending for as it helped us achieve our business's objectives.
