We brought Cience in to help launch a B2B Sales Outreach department for our established traditional ecommerce B2C product. It absolutely took time for the program to build steam, and like others we experienced a good amount of turn over. The PM who lead the way for the first 9 months never faltered in their commitment to our account, and was always proactive about suggesting changes when the opportunity arose. Their cold email open rates were always impressive, and with the right caller we did find success in booking a good amount of appointments. It is important that as the client you provide detailed and honest feedback - without communication and hard work on both ends it simply will not work. The biggest drawback of Cience is the price and ROI. For us, it is not feasible to continue this relationship past the one year mark, however - Cience has given us the tools we needed to continue and has been extremely gracious as we head toward the phase of offboarding.

They took the time to learn our unique product and weren't hesitant to jump on an account for a less than traditional ICP. If you are looking to outsource sales, just be prepared to be an active voice in the partnership.

I believe that this company oversells its services. The salesperson confidently reassured us with stories of previous supposed successes. But in my opinion, their system is clunky and fixed to their model only. We paid for a rag-tag team of ‘specialists’ who are all over the place. In the first 3 months of our programme, five or six of our dedicated team members turned over, one at a time. In our experience, the handovers were non-existent, and not one of them (on their own admission) took time to really understood what we do. One even admitted to me that their prospect list is unchecked. I believe that they’ll blind you with your performance stats to give you false hope. Suddenly the three months are up and then, in my experience, they’ll try to sell you a follow-on programme. Despite false promises, they secured ONE real meeting for us and one dud one. LinkedIn is on fire with ex-‘cientists’ on the JOB hunt now complaining about their ex-employer. If we had just given the money to a charity, I’d be feeling a lot better right now.

We (Euformatics) hired CIENCE to deliver qualified leads in the area of clinical labs and hospitals in the US for genomic data analysis software. Everything seemed fine in the beginning when ramping up their knowledge about our offering even though the onboarding took longer than we were told during the sales process. Once the actual outreach started we saw very few results, only a few meetings over the course of 4 months, and costs of more than $20k. It was quite frustrating to listen to their explanations every 2 weeks during our calls about how we are just where we should be in terms of metrics (open rate of emails, connection rate on calls, etc.) even though the actual deliverables (qualified meetings) were not produced. During the sales process, their representative talked about getting 10-12 qualified meetings per month. The reality was 0.5 per month. So the gap between promises and reality was just too high.

This was an "easy conversion" according to their team as the initial product offering was FREE. They were to get us leads and appointments so that we could complete the signup.

  • We had ZERO conversions
  • Three very poor quality meetings. One of which had no idea who we were.
  • No accountability for the poor performance
  • No recommendations for how they could improve
I would rate zero if possible. We have a very simple, easy-to-understand offering. Nothing complex or nuanced. Free offering to get started. Yet we still got nothing. Hard to imagine a situation more straightforward and simple than ours, so I can't imagine this having a positive rate of return for any situation.

We are a small, but mighty team. We Needed Cience's help in the top-of-the-funnel lead generation/appointment setting with stakeholders who fit our target persona.
  • They set a few quality meetings for us
  • STEER CLEAR- their company and model are a mess. We had a kickoff call in February with our "team" and by mid-May, none of them were still with the organization. We were never looped in on this turnover and as a result, there was a total diffusion of responsibility. Beware of the "10-20 day onboarding period" ours was more than 30 despite the fact we proactively provided them with a 15+ page playbook detailing everything they needed: 1) Target personas 2) Objections and counters 3) Product info 4) Company history 5) Talk tracks 6) Etc. Every ball that was dropped was on their end and there was a complete lack of ownership and accountability from their leadership team. The only person who took ANY ownership was our CAM, who was let go as part of a massive company-wide layoff. Their whole organization is a mess.
  • We made numerous coaching asks of their team after hearing in the call recordings that the SDR was deviating from the script completely and had no idea what they were talking about. Their message was, "We help HR leaders retain talent so that they can promote their talent and not lose existing talent"--- the most generic of pitches and not at all related to what we do. They continuously referred to it as a "system" when we are a professional coaching organization. We coached continuously on every biweekly call and gave them suggestions, none of which seemed to get back to the SDR as they continued to repeat the same mistakes and even went far as pushing a prospect to take a meeting when she was in a rush because "I get incentivized from meetings booked over the phone."
  • Despite our continuous asks, there was no collaboration. Our landing page mockup featured companies that weren't even customers of ours and would've been catastrophic to our brand had it been released. We never saw a mockup of this until the last minute and ended up having to do the entire thing ourselves despite them selling us on the fact that it was something they could handle.
If you are an organization that values collaboration, organization, attention to detail, coachability, and willingness to listen and take feedback, Cience is not the "partner" for you. You fork over your entire 3-month payment upfront with no guarantee of return. What ensues is them checking the boxes with no ownership and accountability along the way. Maybe if you're a drastically simple widget, Cience would work, but if you have a professional services product or something that clearly needs its value props well-articulated, steer clear. You will be burned and they will not work with you at all to take corrective measures, only kick the can further down the road without owning their mistakes.

CIENCE was brought on board to assist in the design and execution of outbound campaigns. Their team seamlessly filled a gap in our sales and marketing teams that existed due to limited bandwidth. Using their proven formula for success, after gaining an understanding of our ICP the CIENCE team took the lead in developing outreach copy and target customer research. Once all parties were in agreement on the game plan, we kicked off the sequence and the results were immediate. Beyond leads and sales, CIENCE's work has lead to a better understanding of our market's unmet needs but also their future wishlist, greatly informing our product development. The campaign has not only affected the bottom line, but many other aspects of our organization that better empower us to make critical strategic decisions going forward.

CIENCE helped us to develop a systematic approach for lead generation via inbound and outbound marketing. They are constantly researching new potential customers for us, and doing all of the hard work involved each and every day to ensure the highest quality meetings are being scheduled. They are primarily being used by our sales and marketing teams, but the impact of their work is felt across the entire organization. Their team creates and optimizes our messaging and outreach by testing and adapting to the responsiveness and feedback of our prospects. This solves a critical issue for us because our C-level team is limited in bandwidth, and CIENCE's expert work allows us to focus on closing deals, be more innovative, and execute the company's vision.
  • The team at CIENCE is incredible. Our assigned Customer Success Manager (Yaroslav), SDR (Valeriya), and Lead Copywriter (Amanda) have produced some of the best work we've had by any of our vendors. They are all top-notch talent and are also some of the most hardworking, helpful, and genuine people I've had the pleasure to work with.
  • CIENCE is lightning fast in their communication. They are reliable, responsive, and always doing their best to exceed our expectations.
  • CIENCE is not only one of our most productive vendors, but they are also one of the most strategic partners of ours. They sincerely care about the results that they produce and are always thinking outside the box to make our program better each day.
  • The team is incredibly resourceful and collaborative. CIENCE will regularly bring in a variety of experts to our weekly calls to help us resolve issues that I would usually expect to be out-of-scope for them. They never cease to amaze me with how much knowledge is shared between their departments and how willing they are to jump in and support us.
  • There isn't much to say here for me from a feature or functionality perspective. We've always had a very seamless interaction with CIENCE from a technology standpoint. I have to admit that I am typically the bottleneck if things ever get stuck because our team at CIENCE usually has to push me to get materials and documentation for our campaigns.
  • We once ran into a slight issue with the timing for our contract renewal. I needed to pause our service because of a large deal we acquired, and I needed to save some extra funds to ensure we could prepare for it properly. I was technically too late to put the pause in time based on the dates in our contract. However, the CIENCE team worked closely with me to come up with a creative solution that was understanding of my challenging situation at the time, while also favoring our long-term partnership rather than short-sighted revenue gains.
CIENCE is well suited for any organization that is willing to invest the proper time and effort with their team to fully utilize their services and leverage the wonderful talents of their team. It is probably much less appropriate if you think that CIENCE is simply a vendor that should work independently and magically produce groundbreaking results. They will absolutely produce results and exceed expectations, but your organization has to do your part as well to ensure the success of the program.

When I first started working with CIENCE, I had many other priorities and honestly did not put enough focus on our program. Despite this, CIENCE was able to produce good results. After I realized that I had not been attentive enough and moved some other things around to prioritize our work with CIENCE, the results grew significantly.

Productive Learning leads executive-only advisory boards and CIENCE was used for their marketing abilities to find prospective candidates, connect with them via email and set up an appointment with one of my team members. We are using CIENCE specifically for our Corporate Training department and connecting to C-Level and executives across all industries.

  • Weekly updates and meetings and an ability to adjust quickly with new offerings we create.
  • We'd like to take our current database and find "lookalike" prospects, meaning, taking the characteristics of our current database and finding similar demographic/psychographics. They were unable to do that, but we found a way around it.
Ongoing email marketing to a large number of people is what CIENCE does best. They write the emails, find the prospects, email the prospects, and do follow-up with them. They also can create landing pages for those prospects to move to. We did not use them for other activities, but I believe they do more as well.

  • CIENCE has a lot of experience in structuring e-mail solicitation programs and is keenly aware of it's best practices.
  • CIENCE is extremely proficient at using on line databases like LI to identify the best individuals to market to.
  • CIENCE offers good templates for these programs but could use more creative thinking without prompting from the client.
  • I have had different teams working with my account. The personnel of the team can make a huge difference.
CIENCE is well suited for consistent development and execution of campaigns. It is well suited to creating visual content and helpful copy generation. Sometimes the offshore voice connections can be problematic during calls.

We are currently using CIENCE to run an outbound cold email campaign to help generate qualified meetings for our account executives. It solves the problem of us not having the resources internally to manage such a campaign.

The quality I loved the most about the CIENCE was their attention to detail and their rapid communication and turn around. We have worked with other teams where we emailed or Slacked them and they would not respond for a day. This is not CIENCE, they are attentive and focus on details and are really eager to please. I always feel like they are an extension of our team and are really invested in our success.

  • The team was very experienced, but some further depth of experience in the affluent sector would be helpful (because we are very early stage).
We partnered with CIENCE at a very early stage and unrelated to them, probably too early. We had prospect definition that was in process and very fluid. What did happen was that we had a partner that worked with us in helping us define the process and lead qualification. There were several iterations along the way that required adjustments and CIENCE was quick to work with us and provided us with complete flexibility, which was critical.

If you have distinct budget-wise needs for business development (hunting) and sales development (SDR) efforts, Cience can be a very good solution.

  • Inexpensive - Most US-based SDR agencies are at least 3x the cost.
  • Weekly review with account manager - Our account manager and SDR do a weekly review with stats from the last week, some sample conversations, etc. This is extremely helpful to stay on top of what's happening.
  • Consistent - They have produced consistent results for us over the last few months.
  • SDRs are not based in the USA.
  • It will take 4 - 6 months to start seeing good results. I'm guessing this is true for any SDR so it's more about having the right expectations.
  • One of our SDRs had to be changed after a few months. This may not happen to everyone but it slowed us up a bit.
I would recommend to any company trying to do outreach at a reasonably high volume - at least 100 people per week. They can also do prospect research but we are not utilizing that service at the moment. Our SDRs do email and phone call based outreach to our prospects.

  • Being adaptable and flexible when a certain cadence isn’t working well, they pull their knowledge/resources to develop a plan that works better for our service.
  • Very friendly, professional, dedicated team members.
  • Compiling and sharing the results of their work regularly with the team - I think they did a great job of always keeping us abreast of the email activity.
  • The writing of the email cadences can be improved. At first, they were being written by someone who spoke English as a second language and it showed in some of the expressions used. Lynsday has been great, but I feel like some of the language is still clunky and doesn’t match our company, MK3's, voice.
  • Backing up their strategy with data. When we were looking for alternative approaches for the style of emails being sent out, recommendations were made, but they did not have solid data on how they performed to back them up.
  • Could improve at qualifying leads - a number of the leads we were able to get on the phone with were not appropriately qualified and were operating with budgets much lower than was appropriate for our services.
CIENCE is well suited for email marketing - great for those email blasts and follow up campaigns. They are less well suited for converting leads. While there was a lot of research done, they never seemed to find potential leads that could convert.

  • Provided sales outreach to the executives, 10,000 in four months. Rep provides key persistent follow-up.
  • Provided content experts to complement/check on my content. Designed "waves" of cent for A/B testing.
  • Provided a Project Manager to ensure that metrics are met and ROI continues.
  • Provides, populates, and manages a CRM system for all contacts.
  • Tough question, as the learning curve to enter any market takes time. CIENCE, with zero experience in my highly technical/science-based sector, overcame this hurdle within two weeks. Their team approach helped to do this. Attention to detail is something that everyone might miss from time-to-time, and we are all learning.
As a sales and marketing expert, I can't imagine a scenario [in which CIENCE is not well suited], after learning about them and using them for 6 months. Perhaps, someone who is more interested in building their own "empire" with all internal S&M hires. But I'm focused on Sales results and their ROI regarding where my pipeline has come in 6 months is off the charts.

My sales growth will result in hiring application account support engineers...that may be a place I would encourage them to consider, as that role is more bottom-of-the-funnel work.

Cience is well suited for companies and organizations that need dedicated sale development effort including research, prospecting, campaigns, and follow up. They are additionally a fit for companies and organizations that have a niche offering where there is less "noise" than other industries by comparison.
