Overall Satisfaction with 1Password
Using 1Password has really helped us to manage the ever increasing amount of passwords that the internet requires these days. It is also more than just a password manager. Secure notes and things like server details, wi-fi passwords, identity storage, and secure document storage make 1Password a fully featured password manager.
- Autofill of usernames and passwords including one-time passwords.
- Password warnings for compromised websites, re-used passwords.
- Safari extension can be somewhat buggy.
- It can be confusing when updating a password and hard to know if the password you created will be saved to the correct record.
- Reduces risk of re-used passwords across multiple websites.
- Limits exposure of sharing passwords amongst colleagues.
Before using 1Password, the typical method in our organization for recording and saving passwords for multiple websites included the ever present office sticky note, an Excel spreadsheet, OneNote notebook, and many other highly insecure methods of writing down and storing sensitive passwords. Other products used included the default password utility in Safari, Apple Keychain, and Chrome's default password utility. No other product provides the feature set that 1Password does along with the ability to use across multiple operating systems and browsers.
