Overall Satisfaction with Airtable
We went looking for a light-weight tool to replace our project lists (spreadsheets!). We found and have been using Airtable with great success. The best part? Along the way we also found it's useful for SO MUCH MORE. We use Airtable for all kinds of collaborations that old MS files and methods just can't do! Great product!
- Flexibility - it's like a spreadsheet, but so much more! Your sheet is dynamic - columns can be defined not just by a datatype like in Excel, but you can have drop-downs (which can be linked to other Airtable tables), large note fields, tags, date selectors, etc.
- Access anywhere (it's in the cloud) with easy sharing and security controls. Invite users by email, and they can create or view your tables.
- Pricing - compared to competitors, on a per user basis, it can be a tad pricey. But when you look at features, it's actually not!
- It has helped us do more in less time. Its a great tool for getting things done.
We need more light tools right now for PM, so big products aren't a fit. We looked at other smaller products/players but none have nearly the features and ease of use as Airtable. Airtable has more flexibility in its views (Kanban plus Grid, Calendar view, named custom views, and filters), and a nice set of templates. You can also take your existing data/csv/spreadsheets, and upload them into Airtable. We haven't used Airtable for any large/huge data sets, so cannot speak to scalability. I preferred the Airtable billing model. You pay only for users that are shared/accessing your tables.
