Overall Satisfaction with Avalara AvaTax
We run all our invoices through AvaTax to determine sales tax. We also use them to file and process some of our returns (others we continue to process on our own due to the infrequency or lack of taxable product in the state).
- Fast and accurate applies tax to invoices
- Files return on time
- Very easy to use and find the information you need in the system
- Very buggy with QuickBooks - get lots of errors and strange things that happen for no reason.
- Service level is frustrating - expect to have tax experts but that never happens.
- Fees and invoices are difficult to understand and service is lacking for renewal and billing.
- We are a small company but it is so helpful to not have to worry about changing tax rates and rules for various locations.
- We did not have anyone in finance when I started so it was great to have this there with all the history - definitely needed for a small company.

We have them file some of our use heavy states - and that is great. 15 returns a year.
