Overall Satisfaction with Azure Monitor

It is used by Engineering and Cloud Operations team. We extensively use Application Insights to log our data and for any debugging purpose. The granular access to logs to individual teams and users controls access to the logs on production systems in case we need to do some debugging sessions. We also enable monitoring and alerting for any production issues.
  • It supports all the Azure PAAS services.
  • Can monitor both infrastructure and application
  • Does not give good service level metrics.
  • It would be nice if we could use monitoring to scale out and scale in.
  • We are able to react quickly to the issues.
  • Debugging sessions are yielding quicker results to generate RCA.
While other tools have their own unique capability, Azure Monitor helps us monitor essential PAAS services that are not supported by other tools. So even though we have one other APM tool, we still rely on Azure Monitor for some of the special PAAS services, this is a huge advantage.
Overall it has been a positive experience. Especially we have one product line that extensively uses Azure infrastructure. We leverage some of the capabilities daily, especially on the production operations side. So far, for the most part, we can get the functionality we are looking for to monitoring, alert, and RCA.

Do you think Azure Monitor delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Azure Monitor's feature set?

Yes

Did Azure Monitor live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Azure Monitor go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Azure Monitor again?

Yes

We were able to get a single pane of glass for all our monitoring needs on Azure Monitor. However, we would like to see it improve to auto scale out and scale in depending on the load without human intervention. This can help us get to the No Ops model and rely on automated processes rather than manual intervention.
