Overall Satisfaction with BDRSuite

Simple to install and use, no problems or specific configuration is necessary.
I use BDR as the 1st solution for Hyper-v VMs backups and offsite replication. This tool has an offsite feature that is easy to deploy and can sync your backup jobs to another location without extra configurations of VPN connections. The backup function is simple to use and configure, and the support team is always ready to reply and solve when a problem appears.
  • Offsite copy.
  • Web console management.
  • Easy to use.
  • Price performance is good.
  • Backup corruption sometimes occurs, and we need to do a full backup again, which means another official copy.
  • The "restart" service after 30 seconds when stopping it.
  • They need urgent to provide a command line usage to allow us to use scripts.
  • Start and Stop scripts possibilities.
  • Price for an off-site replication tool.
  • Simply use an interface, which onsite IT can verify easily.
  • Security and reliability for IT operations.
Basically, offsite replication and price made it easy to make my decision regarding BDR; no other tool has the ability to license one single VM for offsite replication.
We just use virtual backup, and it does the job very well; we never used it for other types of workloads.
Yes, tried Veeam, but its offsite replication isn´t easy to implement as BDR, and the licensing price is much more higher.

Do you think BDRSuite delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with BDRSuite's feature set?

No

Did BDRSuite live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of BDRSuite go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy BDRSuite again?

Yes

Well, it is suited for backups for Hyper-V virtualization and off-site replication. It´s less appropriate for someone that needs to automate actions; there are no script possibilities using BDR. There´s no simple migration/move to another server. It´s the right tool to have a basic backup and replication at a fair price.
