Overall Satisfaction with Bloomerang

We purchased Bloomerang simply for use with our development department (fundraising) but now we use it across our entire outreach department. It makes it easy to track everything from events, press appearances, guest visits, client testimonials, but most importantly, communicating with our donors.
  • Reporting.
  • Connecting lots of disperet constituent data actions across transactions, interactions, notes, donor profile and making it meaningful.
  • Support. The chat function is my fave.
  • Sending Emails.
  • I would like to see improvements to the website integration tool making it easier for us to sell products through our web portal.
  • I'd love for the import feature to catch duplicates more consistently.
  • We've increased our donor retention 7% by simply making it easier for us to send messages and have that info captured and know who needs to be followed-up up with. We haven't even really increased spending on mailings or number of mailings, we're just doing a better job at it.
  • The ease of use is a HUGE change in our process. People are able to take the one minute it takes to pop in and note an interaction, call, meeting... it is awesome. Before we just didn't capture those things because no one thought to ask the data entry helpers and most of that fell on people strapped for time in the first place.
  • We have enjoyed the ease of communicating with our board about the progress of campaigns, annual overview, and other things via the easy to pull and compile reporting tools.
We reviewed many programs before ultimately choosing Bloomerang. The main reason is that Bloomerang has a very dynamic approach to data collection and reporting, is simple and intuitive, and does fewer things very well (rather than many things marginally). We switched from NeonCRM, which was one of those very systems. Everything is easier to use on Bloomerang than NeonCRM. Reporting, website integration, donor profile management... everything. We used NeonCRM for three years and the switch was the best thing we could have done for our department. As for the other programs out there, we felt Bloomerang was a clear winner, but I haven't personally used any of them extensively.
I think that Bloomerang is a great system. It is a great fit if you take in donations. If you didn't need the ability to connect with a website, or take in donations, then maybe there would be a better solution, I couldn't say as I didn't research options of those sort. But as far as options with similar features for similar needs, I can't think of a time it wouldn't be the system I'd recommend.
