Overall Satisfaction with Canto

We use Canto to store and organize all of our image assets. Images in our library are tagged and categorized, and facial recognition is used to identify people in the images. This type of image organization will make it easier for our users to view, share, and search for photos and assets within our collections.
  • Facial recognition.
  • Public portals for sharing.
  • Supports single sign-on.
  • Image management.
  • More intuitive user experience.
  • Had upload errors when using the Canto connect.
  • More customization.
  • Image/asset management & organization.
  • Portals & the ability to share them.
  • Facial recognition.
  • Our team can work across one platform to access all the shared assets in one location.
  • More connectivity & touch-points with donors by being able to share image portals.
  • Ability to stay on brand with style guide.
We had a lot of virtual meetings when we first started using Canto to see the features and training for the upload process. Our onboarding associate was very friendly and supportive as we went through learning the system and its capabilities. She showed us examples, and worked with us through our beginning stages of setup, and answered any questions we had.
Other teams at our university are using PhotoShelter to store and organize their photos, and I use/access PhotoShelter to download images that have been provided to us through that system as well. When using Canto, we are entering more detailed types of information on our images than other teams using similar products for photo management.

Do you think Canto delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Canto's feature set?

Yes

Did Canto live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Canto go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Canto again?

Yes

Canto is well suited for asset management if you have a large number of images to organize, although it does take quite a bit of time to add information and make the assets information-rich. We have a fairly small team using it, but it seems like a large team would be able to use it just as easily. Having everything in one place and the ability to share collections through the portals will work well, I see us using that feature often.
