Overall Satisfaction with Ceridian Dayforce

We have been with Ceridian Dayforce HCM since 2015. We had been using another software that did not meet the needs of our organization. We reviewed a few products and decided on Ceridian Dayforce. The program is being used by everyone at our organization. We really like having one platform for HR and Payroll.

Dayforce is a very robust system. It is easy to use from the management side to the employees portal. The product has addressed how much time management staff had to process scheduling and approving time. Our management team now spends 1/4 of the time scheduling employees. Which gives them more opportunity to spend time focusing on our members and program needs. Approving timesheets has also been done faster with different reports you can run to ensure that meal breaks and meal premiums are calculated. Staff's ability to authorize their own time makes it easier for management to approve their payroll. They can review their hours daily and address any concerns right away. Our web clock is authenticated 3 ways - employee id, fingerprint, and picture to ensure there are no discrepancies. Payroll process is simplified. Reports can be run prior to audit any discrepancies or issues to easily fix prior to committing payroll. As the system is mobile friendly, management staff can use their mobile devices if needed. I am excited to start the new onboarding software. Dayforce has given our management and administration team time to focus on the bigger picture of the organization. Spend time with members that we serve. We are now able to focus on tasks that strengthen our organization. Ceridian continues to upgrade and enhance Dayforce regularly. They try to be at the epicenter of making their product at the forefront.

  • Timesheets - the ability to access individual employees' information in one screen including pay, clock in/out time, meal premium or meal breaks, notes to employees or management.
  • Employee portal - the ability for employees to review their information, update certain areas, print copies of their paystubs and year-end. Approve their time and message their supervisor.
  • Webclock - capability to either use a device, computer, tablet and phone to clock in/out. The ability to have multiple security to access.
  • The program is created to fit the specific needs of your organization. That is a plus but can also be a barrier when speaking to others or to customer support. A few times, support has to take additional time to review our settings to answer questions.
  • We have learned that when we do something, there are different areas where specific change can be done. An example was change of minimum wage. I was taught to do it in one area. Then we realized some of the employees still had the old rate. I was then informed that there was another area that I needed to change that affected a different part of payroll. This can be confusing and varies upon who you speak to with support.
  • Cost is a factor for small non-profit organizations. Several additional products can be costly and the ability to add may not be feasible.
  • Savings in management time in the areas of scheduling and time approval. Time now spent to interact with members.
  • Cost savings on salaries - more accuracy.
  • Indirect cost from being more efficient in our process allowing us to spend more time on our strategic goals.
Being in California, we have had several updates on overtime policies, vacation/sick days, meal breaks and meal premiums for our state. With Ceridian, it has helped us easily make the necessary changes that are needed timely. Ceridian has a report that generates to ensure we are able to audit in those areas and ensure we are in compliance. The different reports Ceridian has created can help us be more accurate on our reports.
For us, the scheduling has helped us made some decisions in how we staff our different program areas and have found that management had several overlapping at areas that were not needed while other's time was understaffed. The reports that Ceridian has have helped us determine and educate management on how we can be more efficient with our staff schedule.
For a small organization staff wearing multiple hats, this has helped us streamline our back office staff and gave us the ability to provide more staff at the front end where our organization is about engaging members. This has helped us meet the mission of our organization and now made an impact to our members and community by helping meet our strategic goals to strengthen our community.
For us being a small company, the benefit module is for a bigger organization. We had purchased this product at the beginning as a recommendation from Ceridian. However, we had found out through them as we had a small number of benefited employees this product may not be a fit. However, we already paid for the product that they recommended and did not get the full amount refunded to us even though we had never used it. That was very disappointing for us being such a small 3.8m non-profit organization. We even asked to move the cost to another program that we could use but did not get that. Our reps did try to hardest to request the change.

Using Ceridian Dayforce

20 - Managers of the different departments. We are in the process of providing access to all our employees by the end of the month. Self Service so they are able to review their hours, request time off, request substitution and other items part of the Self Service.
2 - You do not need IT experience. I would say both of the staff in house has average computer knowledge but we are able to manage with the online support. Aside from that Ceridian offers online trainings and great step by step manuals.
  • All in one - everything you need they can provide in one platform
  • Easy Use - with different levels, this program is easy to maneuver.
  • Time Management - puts my managers back with customers
  • Schedule management
  • Mobile/Tablet Ability
  • Paperless Solution
  • We have not touch even 1/2 of what they can do.
  • For us being a small organization wearing multiple hats, it is taking as some time to marginalize offerings
  • Alexa compatibility
  • Self Service
We have been with Dayforce for 4 years and have a great relationship. It is everything we want plus they are always upgrading and updating to meet the needs of it's client. There are constantly listening to the criticism and makes note and changes to ensure that they fix any issues we may have to better their program.

Evaluating Ceridian Dayforce HCM and Competitors

Yes - Paycheck was the program they had at our organization. The management felt with our organization growing and to meet the needs we needed to explore another product that would not just move us to a different level but also expand with us moving forward. Dayforce has so far made that possible. We have seen addition that was not there 4 years ago and now have that.

Product Features was a big part of why we decided on Ceridian. The ability to provide different products in one platform was a big deal. We had multiple products that took our staff away from what they needed to do. Having a scheduler, timesheets, onboarding, recruitment and so many other products in one just made a difference. The option to also add the products when we were ready. We wanted to be able to take one and learn it well before we moved to another was an option. It gave us the flexibility to go on our own pace.
I would not change it. When I first wrote my evaluation, it was what we were experience at that time. I did not know it would be better moving forward. I do appreciate able to edit and add to my evaluation to give a new perspective having had it for some time now.

The selection process was for me right on. I had a few reviews that did not give Ceridian a positive feedback but at the end we had to determine what the positive and negative were and how that made an impact to our organization. Overall the feedback help us look at the items that may have gotten a bad reveiw but did not impact our organization as that product was something we would not use or we had felt we could learn from.

The one great thing though is the connecting with other organization that had implemented the product and we had learn so much on what they did or not do. That part we use to our advantage and learn from it.
