Overall Satisfaction with Ceridian Dayforce

We implemented Ceridian Dayforce July, 2017 as the HCM software for our entire company. We initially deployed Payroll, WFM, and Benefits. First quarter of 2018 we deployed Recruiting and Onboarding. First quarter of 2019, we plan to deploy Performance Management.

These different modules have addressed an interfacing issue with our prior provider. We process payroll much more efficiently and faster. The Recruiting tool has helped address compliance with application tracking.
  • Continuous Payroll Processing - You have the option to run multiple pay cycles at one time. This assists with making last minute changes and recalculating to make sure the outcomes are correct
  • New Hires have the ability to use the Pre-Start feature to handle all paperwork and elect benefits before Day one at the job
  • Creating and modifying benefit plans is very easy.
  • We have not really had major issues with functionality.
  • Ceridian Support Team has limited resources which could cause delay with any issues where you may need assistance.
  • Systems run more efficiently
  • implementing other modules have incorporated additional efficiencies
One thing I found as a HUGE win was the PPACA feature in Ceridian Dayforce. This is the best tool because it does all of the tracking.
Upon implementation it took a minute to really grasp the full concept of one user experience, one employee record. It would be difficult to use a system without this feature.
We don't have multiple products that have to interface. Every transaction is instant where you can see the results.
We have not had an instance where Ceridian wasn't well suited for our needs. They are leader when it comes to HCM platforms.

Using Ceridian Dayforce

1500 - Most user use the self service features. There are less than 12 Admins
5 - Ability to learn and teach new functionality
  • Payroll
  • Benefits
  • Entitlement
  • Onboarding & Recruiting feature
  • Business analytics and Learning
We've been on the platform 2 years and don't plan to change

Evaluating Ceridian Dayforce HCM and Competitors

Yes - We replaced our previous HCM product. We chose Ceridian Dayforce primarily for the all in one functionality. The capability of running multiple pay cycles was also huge.
  • Price
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
  • Positive Sales Experience with the Vendor
The product features were user friendly and price was competitive
I don't think we would change our process at all.

Ceridian Dayforce HCM Implementation

You are subject to the knowledge or lack there of, of the implementations team. When you have doubts speak up and often. You have to advocate for the best people to get the best outcome
Change management was a big part of the implementation and was well-handled - Have a well thought out communication strategy to implement
  • Running the first pay took longer than anticipated
  • Understanding Ceridian 'speak'

Ceridian Dayforce HCM Training

  • Online training
  • In-person training
  • Self-taught
it's always positive to have face to face training
Instructor lead online training can be daunting because its typically 4 hours. But the overall content is good
Some features are easy to pick up on your own, once you have a working knowledge of the system. I would not recommend self taught training only

Configuring Ceridian Dayforce HCM

Once the concepts are truly understood, the configurability is great for large companies.
Understand how your organization is structured and find out from leadership if they plan to change the structure prior to implementation
Some - we have done small customizations to the interface - We've customized different reports to interface with our operating system.
Some - we have added small pieces of custom code - We implemented a few custom codes to interface with our operating system. It was easy to set up with Support assistance.

Ceridian Dayforce HCM Support

Of the number of tickets I personally submit, about half are resolved timely. The others eventually are resolved but it take awhile
ProsCons
Kept well informed
Poor followup
Less knowledgeable
Difficult to get immediate help
Slow Initial Response
No - Was not aware that this feature existed
Right after implementation support was very responsive with all issues.

Using Ceridian Dayforce HCM

The rating could be higher, but we always experience issues right after new versions are implemented
ProsCons
Like to use
Easy to use
Technical support not required
Well integrated
Consistent
Quick to learn
Convenient
Feel confident using
Unnecessarily complex
Lots to learn
  • Self Service features
  • Not being able to delete a job/position when entered in error is cumbersome

Upgrading Ceridian Dayforce HCM

Yes - There is always 1 or 2 things that have to be re-configured with each upgrade. Those items are resolved pretty quickly most of the time.
  • Added features with modules
  • Continued updates to HTML
