Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst 9200 Series Switches

CCisco Catalyst 9200 Series Switches are based for wired access to network in campus segment. Wide range of IOS-XE software features brings not only physical connectivity, but also Zero Trust Access, Software Defined Network and great observability and serviceability tools including Wireshark, Model Driven Telemetry, Application Hosting and many more.

Pros

  • Network access
  • Network segmentation
  • Zero Trust Access
  • Software Defined Network

Cons

  • Software architecture
  • IOS-XE process isolation
  • Configuration change process - no commit mode
  • Faster time of problem debug and resolution
  • Better segmentation from network edge to core
  • Optimal traffic in SDN configuration
Cisco Catalyst 9200 Series Switches gives many observability and serviceability features. Network Assurance - available in Cisco Catalyst Center (former Cisco DNA Center) - gives us great visibility of Cisco SDN campus solution - SD-Access. Even without deployed SDN, it is possible to use Model Driven Telemetry, Guestshell, python scripts, EEM and many more features.
Advanced manageability on Cisco Catalyst 9200 Series Switches can be used in automation scenarios, where using Netconf protocol we can configure everything in few seconds.
We choose Cisco Catalyst Switches because they give great features, very good software stability and quick TAC support.
