Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MX

So basically we have a few branches all around the world. For example, our headquarters are in Israel, but we also have branches in New York, London, and a few more countries now. We use Meraki to provide internet access to those branches. For example, if we have 80 employees in London, we use Meraki access point switches and firewall in this branch to provide the employees internet connectivity.
  • The management is the best. I'm an old-fashioned networking guy, so I'm used to going to the site itself and connecting. For example, a console cable and start and start configuring. Now since the management is so easy on Meraki I can configure everything from the headquarters from where I sit in Israel and then just go to the site and connect and basically, it's plug and play. After I configure everything from my office in Israel, I can just go to the site for a few hours, and connect everything. Just the magic happens.
  • Well, to be honest, I'm not sure that the updates in this world are the best. I'll give you an example. I configured the MX about a year ago in some way, and then Meraki has put on some updates. When I tried to configure a new MX, I noticed new places that should feel like some kind of IP address and those kinds of things that I didn't need to configure back in the day. So it made it a bit more difficult, but we've managed to solve it. So the update, how updates are being rolled out, that thing should be addressed in a different way.

  • I don't think it's related to the ROI, but I would say that it gives a better employee experience
Yes, of course. Well, the thing is that I can configure a whole new branch, a whole new office in an hour without the need to be physically on the site. That's how beneficial Meraki is for our organization.
Since I can see that if I need to integrate or to add some new devices, it's in a minute, really minutes.
I've tried Aruba. Aruba access point and switches, but Meraki is far, far, far better.
Well, I would say national security or military needs, I wouldn't go with that because well, they're not using the cloud. So for companies that don't use the cloud for any reason, this solution wouldn't be suitable.
