Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Umbrella

We use Cisco Umbrella to perform content filtering for our users.
  • Consistent filtering on or off campus
  • Security in regards to block malware, C2 traffic, and other malicious domains
  • SSL Inspection
  • Time of day blocking
  • Safe search capabilities could be expanded upon
  • Cloud based solution resulting in less physical hardware to maintain.
  • Cisco DNA Center
  • Cisco Catalyst Switches
  • Cisco Aironet and Catalyst Access Points
  • Cisco Umbrella
Barracuda has some additional feature sets in its physical Web Security Gateway hardware, however Umbrella has been more reliable for what we are doing in our environment.

Cisco Umbrella is fantastic at consistent filtering for devices off campus. It generally has functioned well for us with little to no down time. It is also very well suited in regards to application identification and categorization, and good at blocking or allowing applications as defined in policy.
