Overall Satisfaction with Conductor Searchlight

Conductor is being utilized by our organic search team to manage all clients' organic search programs. Conductor allows us to benchmark clients' current organic health as well as show organic growth directly related to the optimization we implement. Conductor also allows us to discover new opportunities through competitor research and keyword discovery tools.

Pros

  • Track and monitor organic growth
  • Easily derive opportunities based on the type of result and ease of implementation
  • Build workspaces to simplify reporting

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Other tools have better local search offerings, though Conductor is improving
  • Time saver. Conductor replaces a large amount of other tools. It saves a lot of time having so much data in one place.
  • Reporting is simple with Conductor. Everything is automated. You just have to take the time to build the reports, but a success manager can help you.
I mentioned in previous questions that the Conductor support is outstanding. Customer success managers literally set you up for success. Conductor does its best to help you grow your clients' organic search programs because, in turn, it helps them. If you need a specific case study the team will build custom reports for you. Also, they have a chat function for quick answers.
Moz is great for small clients. Not the same functionality as Conductor, but much cheaper and gets the job done. BE is the closer competitor and beats Conductor for a few capabilities. BE UX is awful though. Much bigger learning curve than Conductor. There are several tools that does what conductor does, but it's wonderful having it all in one platform.
Anything content related Conductor can help. An underrated part of it' platform is its content mapping functionality. You can easily build audiences and then map that specific session to content you created specifically for them. This then helps you discover content gaps as well as show the most successful part of your content marketing strategy.

Using Conductor Searchlight

Automated reporting makes life much easier. There is less of a learning curve than competitor tools. The customer success managers at Conductor are extremely good at training. You'll easily be able to start utilizing most of Conductor's offerings from Day 1 which is great. There is some time-consuming setup, but again, customer success managers can help with that.
