Overall Satisfaction with Conductor Searchlight
Conductor is being utilized by our organic search team to manage all clients' organic search programs. Conductor allows us to benchmark clients' current organic health as well as show organic growth directly related to the optimization we implement. Conductor also allows us to discover new opportunities through competitor research and keyword discovery tools.
- Track and monitor organic growth
- Easily derive opportunities based on the type of result and ease of implementation
- Build workspaces to simplify reporting
- Expensive
- Other tools have better local search offerings, though Conductor is improving
- Time saver. Conductor replaces a large amount of other tools. It saves a lot of time having so much data in one place.
- Reporting is simple with Conductor. Everything is automated. You just have to take the time to build the reports, but a success manager can help you.
Conductor's data seems to always be accurate. You can obtain data on almost anything SEO related. Their are a few old metrics that Conductor doesn't report on such as a site's authority. You also have to connect third party tools such as analytical tools if you want traffic data. This unfortunately is an additional fee.
Content ideation is super simple with the various discovery tools Conductor has. Whether you want to see queries related to a certain keyword, or keywords a competitor targets compared to your site, you can easily find new content topics to focus on. Again, I love the content mapping capabilities and audience intent tool.
- Moz and BrightEdge
Moz is great for small clients. Not the same functionality as Conductor, but much cheaper and gets the job done. BE is the closer competitor and beats Conductor for a few capabilities. BE UX is awful though. Much bigger learning curve than Conductor. There are several tools that does what conductor does, but it's wonderful having it all in one platform.
