Overall Satisfaction with Druva Phoenix

We use Druva Phoenix across the whole organization, we needed a robust and easy to use server backup solution to protect our on-prem virtual servers.

We started using Druva InSync a few years before using Phoenix and it turned out to be a great solution for endpoint backup, so when we needed a cloud-based backup solution for our servers, we decided to give Phoenix a try and it worked as good as InSync.
  • Easy to deploy, it takes minutes to be up and running.
  • Easy to use and flexible, the web console is intuitive and makes it easy to configure and monitor the status of your backups.
  • Reliable. Once you have set up your policies and servers, it works by itself.
  • Reporting, it can be hard to tell the actual amount of space consumed by a specific recovery point.
  • DRaaS is not easy to deploy since you have to work on AWS and Phoenix.
  • It does not provide a solution for Azure workloads.
  • Positive: we have our data secure on the cloud.
  • Positive: we have reduced the risk of data loss.
Pros:
  • Works well
  • Easy to use
  • Reliable

Cons:
  • Does not work with Azure workloads.
  • Backups can only be stored on AWS.
We have only had a couple of support requests and they have provided solutions.
Druva is easier to use and presale services were better.
Well suited:
  • On-prem or AWS workloads: VMware, Hyper V, Windows, Linux, SQL.

Not appropriate:
  • Microsoft Exchange on-prem (Druva does not have a specific agent for Exchange as it does for SQL)
  • Azure workloads
  • If you need your backups to be stored on a cloud different from AWS
