Overall Satisfaction with Figma

I lead our product discipline, so I'm very much focused on the early stages of converting a strategy both to a concept and a prototype. I used it for bringing to life ideas very quickly, but right through to sending design and use behaviours to our tech team to build from. Our biggest challenge is getting a prototype up and running without a full build as we're primarily a B2B.
  • Provides a quick look-and-feel to a concept or idea
  • Gives our tech team a detailed spec of how something should look
  • Once learnt, allows for a very quick build
  • The data hook in to prototype something is lacking, it has some field management but not much
  • The conversion from Figma to another low-no code solution like Bubble is very iffy and hasn't really paid off
  • The style management is not very intuitive
  • It's helped us both get interested parties closer to signing an agreement, and allowed us to more quickly exit other conversations
  • It has helped translate ideas to our distributed product and tech team who are in different countries and timezones
While different, Bubble also allowed for a very quick idea to code. We started using Figma for design and Bubble for prototype, but very quickly stopped doing dual design and just did it in Bubble. It's not sustainable long term and we'll likely have to revert to Figma, but it allowed us to get up and running very quickly. Figma's lack of data integration - even for a clickable prototype, really slowed us down. The lack of interactive elements was also a huge issue.

Do you think Figma delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Figma's feature set?

Yes

Did Figma live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Figma go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Figma again?

Yes

Figma is great, 1) if you've used it before, and 2) if you're focused on getting the design up and running quickly. It's also awesome for passing requirements to tech teams without actually having to do a whole bunch of documentation. Once the basics were learnt, it's been instrumental in getting pitches of ideas ready for third party audiences.
