Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using Google Compute Engine for running our workloads with respect to scaling our platform using templates. The ease of creating the compute engine with compatibility of Operating systems and customisation features according to our requirements.

Pros and Cons

Easily customizable userdata scripts in compute engines
The integration with other services using RBAC is easy and quick
Community support for vm images if excellent

The UI can be improved. Difficult to find stuff if one is not experienced with GCP.
The cost options can be made much more competitive.

Return on Investment

Cost effectiveness when using as worker nodes for our Kubernetes clusters
Easier troubleshooting as integrated with cloudshell

Performance

No changes noticed after implementing Gemini to their cloud products.

Reliability and Availability

The availability is okayish. I have noticed some times the resource space for the particular az gets exhausted due to which cannot create resources in the availability zone.

Alternatives Considered

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)

Ec2 has much more compatibility with different tech stacks than Google Compute Engine.
