Overall Satisfaction with GoToMyPC
I have been using GoToMyPC since its inception in 1998. It allows me to work remotely without losing functionality from my onsite software and databases. During COVID, it allowed my bookkeeper to do her job, even while she was quarantined, which kept the invoices going out, and the customer payments coming in! GoToMyPC has been very useful. I don't know what I would do without it!
Pros
- Allows for both remote printing and printing at the host location
- Gives employees the ability to log in when buried under 4 feet of snow
- Keeps the avenue of communication when cellular towers are down
Cons
- My employees have found the installation instructions difficult to understand
- Occasionally, the remote printing is glitchy, especially when the internet connections are weak
- If you consider ROI to include time and frustration, GoToMyPC has a large positive impact in eliminating frustration and time wasted finding information that is located on another computer.
I found it to be more difficult than other multi-attendee platforms such as Zoom, WebX, and Discord. I prefer both Zoom and Discord to gotomeeting.
