Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Greenhouse is utilized in our organization as an ATS system. Our aim is to organize our candidates by role they apply to, the software reflects the roles to linkedin and other websites so that potential employees can see the roles and apply. The software also goes beyond this basic ATS feature by allowing us to source through resumes by key word, and to run reports to look at specific recruiting statistics.

Pros and Cons

Greenhouse has an excellent ability to read resumes so that you can source through applicants in a very similar fashion to linkedin sourcing.
Ability to set up auto interview scheduling for first round interviews
Posting roles is quite simple

Better auto scheduling abilities (ie panel interviews, setting up more than 1 at once, helping with canceling/rescheduling)
Can be difficult to get managers trained on the tool
Permission access is super annoying - ie when you set up an interview this does not automatically give the interviewer permission to view the interviewee's resume

Greenhouse has improved ease in which we schedule first step interviews

Usability

The software is not complex, and I feel in general it is pretty user friendly but there are some areas that could be improved. As I mentioned as a con, the permission areas can often get in the way of the interview process. When scheduling an interview, you have to assign the person the correct permission for the role, but I think should be automated (at least to interview permission) if you are setting the person up to interview for that role...

We've also had issues getting our managers trained to use the tool. Once they know how, it is simple, but there is a learning curve. One example is getting people set up for google calendar integration. This is not as straight forward as it should be.

Greenhouse is a great tool is you want a relatively intuitive ATS system, it is probably one of the best on the market.
