Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

Intacct was being used as our primary accounting software program within our Accounting and Finance department. It wasn't used by any other departments within the organization. The main use, or at least most important, was the implementation of Zuora into Intacct to create a better billing system for our customers.
  • High amount of customization
  • Great menus and easy navigation
  • Ease of adding new accounts and adjusting securities
  • Fully cloud based system
  • Being the product was fairly new at the time, implementation of other software to work with Intacct wasn't as streamlined
  • Sometimes the program felt slightly "laggy" or slow
  • Customization can take sometime to work properly, but once functions it's great.
  • Ability to process month end close faster
  • A better and more streamlined customer billing solution
  • Better customer service
I would rate this a 8 as Intacct is able to be customized extensively to your needs. The downside it that sometimes getting custom configurations to work properly can be a bit of a hassle. However, once corrected it is GREAT. When we had issues with anything, the support team at Sage Intacct was always helpful and did their best to ensure we got the issues fixed. They would send some extra time explaining the issues and make sure you know how they would be fixing it.
Originally we were using QuickBooks but as the company grew we needed to migrate to a platform that was more capable with our future needs. Our top two choices were Intacct and Netsuite. We choose Intacct over Netsuite despite it being a newer program. Our managers both agreed that Intacct offered more customization and a better "hands on approach" vs automation.

I believe a big selling point for Intacct over other accounting software programs is that it has a more "hands on" approach to the system. It can eliminate some of the automation, which as an accountant can be scary sometimes as transactions will automatically post and leave you asking, "Umm... where exactly did that go?" or "Why did the system do that?" Overall, it is a great system and I would highly recommend it.

COVID-19 Updates & Changes

We integrated with Expensify. This totally revamped out expense reporting process and the integration allowed for better transfer of account information between platforms than our previous system and LESS work as well. By utilizing this integration of have reduced our time spend on month end closing tasks as well as a better overall experience of our customers for submitting and approvals on expense reports.
Since Sage Intacct is a cloud based system, our organization was able to adapt to the COVID-19 situation quite well. We were able to maintain most of the same processes we had in place with only slight changes (such as online signatures and digital storage of approvals/documents). Other than that our processes have remained the same and we have continued to get our jobs done seamlessly during this time.

Using Sage Intacct

  • General Accounting and Finance
  • Custom Reports
  • Revenue Recognition
At this point the system is working great. During any migration of software you are bound to have issues along the way; at first it was frustrating (as always). However once we ironed out the issues we had; the software works great and will scale well with our company. We have no reason at this point or the the near future to switch.
