Overall Satisfaction with Intacct
Intacct is used by the Finance and Accounting departments primarily and is our GL accounting software. We use it for all AR, AP, Cash Management, Purchasing and Revenue Recognition as well as producing most management reports. We have several users who use it for basic reporting and purchasing workflow (approvals). Intacct allows us to run our business and pass our annual audit with no worry about the integrity of our financial systems.
- Intacct is user friendly, I have had several instances where I needed to add records or run reports in areas with which I was unfamiliar and have always been able to work my way through with limited help from product support.
- Intacct provides basic reports which are useful but also lets you customize reports to fit your organization's needs. While the look of the reports is sometimes not artistic, the data is solid and there is a decent amount of flexibility in what you can do.
- The GL aspect of Intacct is reliable, there are no "outside the process" functions which can cause data integrity issues. As with most GL systems, there are no worries around unbalanced entries or reports that do not tie.
- Intacct has terrific support and is a well run organization. The annual conference, Intacct Advantage, has value to an organization. The break out sessions are often targeting issues that we at Teachscape are dealing with and can be very enlightening. The conference is also set up so to encourage networking and collaboration.
- As with most accounting systems, producing first class reports often requires a third party software package such as Harvard Graphics. I have not found a solution that combines the data integrity with quality charts and graphs.
- Intacct does not have a great Professional Services module. Using a third party such as Open Air works but the data integration is not seamless and can lead to a lot of wasted time and effort.
- The location of Intacct Advantage, when held on the east coast, leaves a little to be desired (just my opinion though).
- Faster annual audit with better results.
- Faster close with more timely and accurate month end reports.
- Better visibility into our backlog, better reporting on future revenue and better product price history.

Intacct provided the most functionality for the price. We did not need an inventory module or a large ERP, we needed a package built for high tech companies. Intacct has a very good revenue module that is easy to understand and manipulate when needed. The system had decent canned reports but also provided the ability for custom reporting (which they have since enhanced quite a bit). The support during the integration was first class and the ability to get online help is key when trouble shooting an issue with time constraints.
