Overall Satisfaction with KACE Systems Management Appliance (SMA)

Kace is used as our public facing ticket system for technicians and users alike. We also leverage it for a knowledgebase. Additionally, it is used for our software and windows patching.

  • Getting ahold of support faster/easier (phone number?)
  • If utilizing the features, the cost may be easier to swallow
  • It is a one stop shop for different features. Eliminating the need for multiple products (patching, license management, windows updates, etc)
  • Inventory management of devices is easier.
  • BMC Track-It!
More features, better integration into our system(s). Ease of use for not only Techs but also end users.

KACE Systems Deployment Appliance (SDA), PDQ Deploy & Inventory, VMware vCenter Server
Definitely suited for a help desk that willl utilize the features. If you have a smaller help desk this may not suit you. Especially one that may have a smaller budget. The software seems to be more expensive compared to others. Goes hand in hand with KACE SDA.

Evaluating KACE Systems Management Appliance and Competitors

Yes - We replaced the need for BMC Track-It, Goto ticket system, other patch management software vendors.

We wanted a system that would integrate with our systems (AD) and be easy to manage, easy to use and have support that will help us along the road.
After being deployed, we realized we wanted to do some things differently. It's hard to say what we would do differently but definitely ask all the questions!
