Overall Satisfaction with Kofax Power PDF
I work with small batches of a variety of documents for different end uses, so I benefit most from using Kofax Power PDF for scanning, processing, converting to text, and optimizing for efficient storage and retrieval.
- Multiple levels of utility make it versatile: Sometimes, a quick scan and save is all that's needed, and sometimes, it's necessary to dig deep into various options to get exactly the right output. Kofax Power PDF gives me choices.
- The wide range of operations possible within this single program means not having to switch to Photoshop or some other app and then back to Kofax Power PDF.
- User-friendly toolbars and menus with logical groupings made Kofax Power PDF easy to comprehend as a new user, and the Help guides are truly helpful.
- I find that quickly editing text within a document or adding a line of text is clunky and can snowball into things popping out of place. I prefer to export text, and then work on it elsewhere.
- Sometimes it seems that text recognition is trying too hard and throws me paper punches as "O"s and wrinkles as shapes, so I have to get rid of those artifacts.
- The "Update Available" popup which is usually not an actual update announcement but rather an offer to sell me something is annoying.
- As a freelance desktop publisher and proofreader, I've reduced overhead by buying Kofax Power PDF instead of the competition. The fact that I have all the tools I need without worrying about subscription renewal costs is a relief. People who have tried other PDF apps will appreciate that Kofax Power PDF is a workhorse, totally reliable, and delivering on its promises.
There is a learning curve with all programs, but Kofax Power PDF provides guides and tool labels to accelerate learning. The familiar ribbon-style toolbars speed navigation adjustment, too.
- Adobe Acrobat, Kofax Power PDF and Foxit PDF Editor (FoxitPhantom)
Adobe Acrobat and Kofax Power PDF are similar enough to make transitioning back and forth easy. When I have had to use Foxit PDF Editor on someone else's computer, it has been disappointing in comparison. Online free PDF apps I see other people using tend to want you to download things, so I avoid them.
